On going project of cleaning the engine….

    EGR valve cleaned.
Didn’t want to disturb the spindle so only briefly cleaned around it and cleaned the port while opening the valve manually.
The EGR tube and small chamber were also soaked in special cleaning solution and ready for the reassembly.

You guessed it right…. I’m still cleaning the parts….
I think I’m obsessed in cleaning the parts….
Really hate peeling off the melted potting from the timing sensor.

It’s just everywhere and there is no easy solution for this so you just need to keeping scraping it off by hand.

Got bored so decided to work on the easy bits.

As expected, some of the valve clearance was at the limit or just out of the spec so it would be interesting to see how the deviation of the compression check between the cyl will improve after this service.

Happy with the initial engine inspection stage so from here, I just keep removing the parts so that I can clean the inside of the engine.

The PCV valve on my engine is at the Front bank so this side will always show more traces of the blowby gas than the rear side.

This photo was taken immediately after the cover was removed.
Even after more than 131K miles, my Front valve cover looked very clean.
Another reason why it is so important to replace the engine

As same as the services carried out for other owners, I always wash the engine first before opening the valve covers.
This is to prevent any dust, debris, etc dropping inside the engine.

By using the sprayer with the cleaning agent, blew away any greasy or stubborn debris from the engine head.
Normally, I have to spend hours cleaning the engine using the same method while keeping the engine inside the engine bay but as mentioned many times, it was
