    The old and new oil pan. Couldn’t place both pans in ideal camera angle to show how severe the dent was, but I’m so glad that we replaced it after looking at the state of the dent so close to the oil screen.

    In order to remove the Front Header, I had to first remove the heat shield.
    The two fixing bolts for the heat shield were heavily rusted and the thread was already seized behind the shield and thus, not possible to apply the penetrating oil.

    I was not comfortable using the propane burner to heat up the bolts due to limited space so

    Having lots of fun dealing with the heavily corroded bolts and nuts around the front header and CAT.

    Although I’m not going to touch the Front O2 sensor during the process, I have my own policy of not dealing with the exhaust area without having access to the spare sensor.

    However, this time, I forgot that this NSX was the full OBD

    Due to other projects being very busy, couldn’t spend much time on my NSX but now back in the garage again.




    Oil Pan removed and if you have the replacement o-ring, you can also remove the oil screen/strainer to completely take off the baffle plate.

    Unless you take the engine out and set the engine/cylinder block upside down, you only have very short time to keep the oil pan mating surface oil free after wiping it down with the brake cleaner.



    Not much photos here as I was dealing with the liquid gasket which needs only 5min before it starts to cure so had to be really quick in installing everything.
