    By the end of yesterday, I was hoping to finish replacing all coolant hoses but with so many corroded pipes, flange at the thermostat and dirty TH body and intake manifold, had to leave the last two hoses at the oil cooler for tomorrow and then fire up the engine.

    Some notes from the Health Check.




    Please consider replacing all of the coolant hoses and cramps.
    You can check the manufactured date from the label on the hose. One of them is showing as 14/Nov/01 so about 13 years old.
    All of the hoses are similar age and after 10 years ...

  3. OEM Coolant Header Tank

    On several occasions, I had to work on NSX with aftermarket coolant header tank (or Expansion tank) and also asked from many owners regarding the use of aftermarket one.


    Although they look nice, I saw several issues such as cap not secure enough, leaking coolant due to crack at the welding, design issue with tank expanding under pressure, etc.


    As far as I know, I have never seen an aftermarket header tank

    By now, I should have finished the 1st stage test driving session but
    I haven’t even managed to carry out the vacuum leak check on the
    cooling system yet so not fired up the engine at all.


    Things were going smoothly until I started installing the exh pipe.
    When I started working on this NSX, I noticed that some of the bolts and
    nuts were not torqued to the spec and bit loose but no cross-thread so
    I just thought

    Extracted about 400cc old oil from the oil level gauge ...
