From time to time, I experienced big issue with the seized bolts and nuts on our NSX.

It is a classic car and considering the amount of salt in the air during the winter period, I’m not surprised with this.

Following information was supplied from our member ‘Graham’ on this site.

He already successfully tested this method and managed to remove the heavily corroded bolt that I could only rotate but ...

  2. Drive shaft 01

    by , 06-06-2011 at 11:22 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

Once again, time to work on the drive shaft.

Started to remove the parts around the engine in preparation for the compression check.

Again, as I don’t know what kind of torque and treatment were carried out on the spark plugs, decided to remove them while the engine is cold.

I was expecting all of the spark plugs being replaced and although the centre tip looked fine, I didn’t like the amount of corrosion at the insulator body.

  4. Gas Damper, Air scoop

    by , 06-06-2011 at 11:17 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

As I don’t like working on the engine while the damper is too weak to hold the hatch glass opened, decided to start replacing the dampers first.

You could recharge the gas if you want to but getting the new one from Japan is also a good option.

It comes with the stud bolt as well.

Now I don’t need to hold the Eng Hatch glass with my special padded bloom ...

The engine room and front compartment looked very dusty.

As I don’t want any dust to get inside while I’m working on the engine and brake system, decided to first wash down all these dust.
