    I think this board will hit the new history record for me for the size of the area that I had to scrape off due to acid corrosion.

    Also, it will require lots and lots of jumper wire, hard wire and soldering bridge to re-create the dissolved circuit.

    Challenge continues….

    Doesn’t look great at all…..

    After the initial cleaning, it was quite obvious that some of the circuit tracks and pads were already gone/missing by the poor previous work….

    Also, the leakage from the original capacitors were left too long that it dissolved so many tracks.

    Area around C10 and C14 showed huge paddle of leakage…

    And the connector was already melted by someone…

    It’s going to take long time to service this board….

    Another owner contacted me to have his A/C CCU board serviced.

    He was suffering from several issues such as;

    • only blows air at max fan speed
    • nothing shows up on the display
    • can’t change the mode from DEF to others
    • not sure the A/C compressor clutch is controlled or not because the compressor was disabled in the past

    After receiving the board, I carried out the initial inspection and I’m afraid, I have no confidence ...

    After checking the circuit, it’s time to install the new capacitors.

    After cleaning the board one more time and carried out the inspection, applied the conformal coating to the board.

    At the same time, re-soldered two Main Relays (for another owner) and coated them as well.
