Does anyone have a spare plastic coolant expansion tank that I could borrow? I have an aquaintance that has the ability to make really nice low volume aluminium ones with level gauges but need a template. If there is enough interest from anyone he says he can make formers (moulds) and do a limited production run. Any interest?

I'd be interested when mine goes.

South London/Surrey but my Sister lives near Aberdare and owes me a favour or two. A lend would be tops if possible.

Latest is AR has lent me a plastic one for the guy to assess the work involved.
I need to look at it a bit closer to work out the purpose of the internal baffle and indeed whether the shape/size could be better without changing capacity and still fitting, and find time to get down to Southend and have a chat with the guy about quantities. If a relatively one off item, he will use a different production method. If more units he will make moulds. I will need some rough guide on price(s) before I can gauge true interest.
Won't be a five minute job but I will try to move a step forward within the next two weeks.

I would guess that a lot of people in the States would be interested in a tank that looked just like the stock one, but had a level gauge.
On the stock one, as you know, you can’t see the level anymore.
So a transparent one or a black one with transparent strip.

You could sell 1000.

Just gave me an idea, couldn’t we just put Goodridge fittings in the side of the tank with a hose between?
Well, I have heard (prime) that the stock tanks are fragile anyway. Better not go drilling holes in it.

So a completely new one (non-Honda) would be a nice idea. I don’t like the bling of the aluminium ones…

I'd be keen for one (aluminum coolant tank in a shape similar to OEM). Please keep us upto date on the progress!

Thanks... 8)

Sorry to report that due to work/kids and getting the car ready for the ring it has moved on little, but is not forgotten. I will make a positive effort to progress it this weekend when I get home.

I'm prettty certain this project has now died, due to a combination of factors.
The spare tank I had borrowed was needed back before the guy agreeing to the work had finished his then current contract and as I understand it, at the moment he appears too busy to get deeply involved :(
A shame but worth a try.

I'm sure these people can do one http://www.baileymotorsport.co.uk/

Who's nearest that can take a tank in?

I'll have one too, preferably with a clear hose on the side to act as a gauge.

how about this one from Science of Speed
http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/engine%5Fperformance%5Fproducts/NSX/ScienceofSpeed/coolant%5Ftank/

seems to be pretty much what is being described here

if there is sufficient interest for a group buy I reckon we could get $40 knocked off the price of each unit (based on the introductory offer on NSX Prime (http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67712) which recently expired)

http://x-rates.com/calculator.html says £131

according to the SoS product page, the prices listed (inc $229 on the polished version) expired on Friday 14/04, so if we are to try and get these we'll need a decent GB - I reckon 5 buyers are needed to get SoS to keep the lower price (please let me know if you disagree with my assumption)

mutley is #1 - 4 more needed.
