As this event still seems to be the biggest annual gathering of NSXCB and as Chris has picked up the event for early organisation, I wondered how many people would be interested in attending an event after the show?

With enough notice and interest we could book a venue with sufficient bedrooms and a function room for maybe a dinner and entertainment, or if anybody else has any suggestions?

I know Paul started by bringing a social event into the club earlier this year with the inaugral NSXCB dinner,(which unfortunatly I couldn't make) but just wondered if this is something the club members are interested in or is the preference to stay with the cliched anorack style car club?;)

This is a good idea as with Japfest you want to have a look around and watch some track action as well as talk to people but it's a lot to do whilst there.

Great idea getting this event up on the board so early, lets hope we can get everyone out for this one. A bit of a do afterwards would also be good and would presumably need booking fairly early on.

A dinner and get together would be great
as some will be traveling down on Friday, an overnight venue fot friday with dinner etc would perhaps be best
we can also then arrive at Japfest in convoy.

Hi Guy,s
I spoke to the organisers at Japfest today, they are working on the basis of first come first served and there will be a cut off date 6 weeks before the event ie 31st MARCH 2012. this will be the last date at which we can get reduced price tickets and stand passes ( allows your fantastic NSX onto the club stand rather than with the micras and corsas in the public car park)
The sooner we can get money in and order some tickets and passes the better our chance of securing the same stand pitch as previous years.
Pre addmision tickets for clubs are £15 ( £20 after 31 March and on the day)
To make life easy I propose £15.50 per ticket, this will then cover cost of envelope and postage , which will be easier than arranging to hand out tickets and passes on the day. I will then post out tickets and passes around 1st May as soon as I recieve them from Japfest
Payment to me, and I will PM everyone with details of how to pay etc.
The sooner we can get a dozen tickets and passes ordered the best chance of securing our usual pitch.
Trust this is OK with everyone.
Cheers Chris

I was refering to one of Chris's earlier posts as a few people travel down the day before to get there in the morning at a good time. It all depends on what the majority want, I'm easy.

Hi Guy's,
registered the club today with Japfest for Japfest 2012.
Have requested same stand area as last 3 years
To date have secured 17 advanced tickets and car passes.
So come get your names on the list, get your girlfriend / boyfriend /partner to treat you for Christmas and let's make Japfest 2012 one to remember with a record turnout.
I have also asked Honda for support with a marquee or whatever they can offer
but am waiting on their support logistic plans for 2012. Will keep you posted on this.

Now we've got all the festivities out of the way it's time to start serious thought about Japfest 2012.
we are currently at around 20 cars so only another 30 to to make that magical 50.
so come on you petrol heads put May 12th in your Diary and put your name on the list.
It may seem a long way away but cut off date of end March will be on us before you realise it.
We already have some newbies on the list, so need all you regulars out there to get to Japfest to give them a proper
NSXCB welcome.

Hi Chris,
Is anything happening or been decided about a get together the night before and a convoy in together? Time is moving along and we need to book some accomodation for the night before.
Or is it going to be the same as last year and meet at the services and convoy from there?

Thanks Sharon

Chris B N
30-01-2012, 10:27 AM
As Sharon points out time is moving along so it's time to make that commitment for Japfest.
To date I have 22 cars and 34 members on my list of which 24 tickets ( 14 Cars) have been paid.
So far there is no real positive interest re a pre or post meet
As usual I would expect there will be a couple of convoys organised, one from London area and one halfway along the M4
I am booked in the Premier Inn at Chippenham ( 4miles to CC) for the friday night, maybe we can have a pre meet there on the Friday evening if anyone is interested.
The hotel does get quite full for Japfest weekend so anyone interested should make quick reservations.
The car park is usually quite interesting as well.
If you are interested in the Friday night , book your room and post your interest
I will then reserve a table for 8 pm at the Hotel for the Fri night

Only 28 days left to get your ticket money in so that I can meet the

More importantly *** fest will not issue Car passes after the cut off date

2) An NSX "drive" to the festival on the morning?
3) The stand (assuming we have a stand??)

Are HUK supporting us?

Chris B N
09-03-2012, 07:15 PM
Mike (Sorepaws) is liaising with HUK
The stand is already arranged, our piece of the grass, same as we have had for the last 3 years
all we need to do now is fill it. There are usually a couple of convoys arranged for the morning.

If all 30 of us arrived in convoy with a reasonable safe distance between us that would be rather impressive 397.35m long (assuming a 50/50 split between NA1's and NA2's) with 2 car lengths between....now that would attract some attention!

I really must do something more useful with my time!

there will be an area allocated for us, the marshals on the gate will direct you! it's just a case of getting there, and once most are there the fun arranging the cars begins, usually followed by a great display being slightly cocked up by late-comers!!!!!

last year sarah met with the cube club on the m4 services (westbound, Leigh delamere) they left there at 8.30, and managed to get parked up at 10.30, the 8 mile journey taking 2 hours...traffic gets a tad busy.....

Good to catch up with you all and a stunning collective of NSX's each with their owners individual stamp on them. Too many to mention them all but my highlights were were

The grey 55plate with the blue interior.....stunning
Roys Blue Heaven (as long as he wasnt referring to Man City)

Hi guys!

It was a brilliant day...great weather and great people from the club to catch up with! A Big thank you to Chris who flawlessly organised a great japfest event!

The only downside worth mentioning was the 3hour queue, but was great in a way that phil, Ewan and olly managed to have a mini meet every 5-10 mins!

The other things were a car in front of me that must have got through at least 5 joints! And the very eager kids behind who were trying to cloud the skies with rubber from tyre burning, in a built up family residential area.....which was just so annoying.

Still was an amazing day and will catch up at silverstone classic.

Good to catch up with some of you even though it was only brief. The queues even with local knowledge were a nightmare as it took over two hours before I could get to the back roads. Unfortunately I had to get back for my daughter who was with the other half for the first time on her own.

Hope to see you all next year properly when I'll be in something a little different. The ideas already there and someone reaffirmed it, hope it's welcome ;) Just hope the next 12 months are as good as the last. It was only when someone spoke about seeing me last year that I even remembered I was there.

My first Japfest and having set of early we were the second car to arrive thanks to Nigel in his stunning white facelift NSX letting us in on the roundabout. As I came with a friend and we had another at the other side of the circuit with his 450bhp Evo 8 we didn't spend much time around my car but we did meet half a dozen or so very friendly owners. Silverstone sounds like a must so I will ensure I spend more time meeting other owners in July.
Having only had my car a few weeks and also squeezing in a holiday it was the first decent run in the car traveling from Poole along some great A and B roads. The car felt fantastic so I look forward to some more days out now we appear to have a summer on its way

Well, didn't expect to be back in an NSX for JF. Again! I was seriously shopping for a Boxster Spyder. But when the opportunity came up it seemed like an interesting curve ball.
So the highlights of the day for me was having a car to drive, Gary's facelift conversion; truly awesome. Roy's LBB and the endless piss taking about owning five cars in seven years.
It was great to see everyone again. Thanks to Chris for doing a great job organising our stand.

Cheers,

James.

Its always good to have these large meetings ... they always throw up a few surprises.

The only negative was the Q's this year, absolutley terrible for some and this needs feeding back to the organisers please.

On the upside ... Andy's Silverstone 55 NSX-T ... still for me the best colour on a facelift, even though Gary's project has turned out really well and looks great, and Roy's solo LBBP really stood out being the only one on display this year.

New NSX owners are always welcome and I like to hear how they got hooked, where they found their NSX and help with intro's as necessary.

It was a shame the well organised arrival convey failed at the last hurdle; that layby \ traffic light junction was waaaaaay to scary for the volume of cars we tried to get together ... maybe an hour earlier would have worked?? Still, we have the SSC to get it right.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves, had a safe journey home and didn't get as sun burnt as Rich appeared as we parted our return journey ... he was almost the same colour as his NSX!

See you all again soon

regards, Paul

As always it was good to meet old faces and new. Many thanks to Chris for organising it. Looking forward to SSC.

Yes Paul, when I got home and looked in the mirror I was a bit red and with my grey hair an even better match of my NSX!

Regards Rich

Really enjoyed my first japfest and was great to meet members and put names to faces etc sorry to those I didn't talk to will hopefully do so next time, all the cars were lovely especially the other White ones:)

Me and my pal were very red faced not being used to such lovely weather lol and the drive home was fine until the last 90 miles strong winds heavy rain and surface water had me crawling up the inside lane at 50 mph after a heart stopping moment at 80mph through a flooded section:eek:

Though apart from another stone chip that was the only drama in a 800 mile round trip so can't complain oh yeah apart from the crazy shortcut to japfest involving the tightest roads I've driven down and how that horse squeezed past I'll never know:D

Can't wait to see you all again

Although I normally focus on the Blog section these days, just wanted to say thank you to Chris for organising this event for us.

In case you are using the ‘What’s New?’ search feature or the ‘Forum Runner’ and other mobile applications that won’t pick up any of my Blog entries, you can find some photos and comment here; Japfest 2012 (http://www.nsxcb.co.uk/entry.php?625-Japfest-2012)

It was nice meeting everyone including several new owners and looking forward to meeting you all again in the future event.

Haha nice one though you clearly didn't think your joke through as a downhill section wouldn't have been flooded;)
