I Guess it doesn't apply to incoming phone calls from Car Traders!!

"A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it" :quote:

....wow, truly an enlightening, eureka moment in my life..

That's a horrible trader phrase, hungover from the 70's.
There are a lot of patronizing little inferences in there too.
I hope you told them to go **** themselves.

Cheers,

James.

'A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it'

corny, but true!

James... you know me well enough to know explicatives can flow like Champagne at a Polo match when I'm in disagreement. ;)

As with everything in life, u can't paint with a wide brush. relativity is probably a key concept here..

for me.. This car isn't worth a pound less then I'm willing to sell it for... As I'm sure applies to quite a few owners on this forum.
Buyers can argue this point all year long, year after year, but until the owners agree... it's a mute argument.

And in my personal opinion not a very positive negotiation tactic, at all... when taking into consideration you are trying to pry a rare, virtually irreplaceable commodity from the grips of another enthusiast.... :)

I like to reverse the argument; offer them £150 for their sh itty little rag & see how they like it! I usually do that to all cold whorlers.

Unless I haven't got time, in which case the answer can be rather tersererer...

Don't drop it a penny - it's worth £42.5-£45k all day - if I hadn't bought mine 3 months ago I'd would have it in heartbeat :)

The latest version of "a cars only worth what someone will pay for it" is "it owes me........."

I dont give a flying fark what it owes you!!!!
