YES!!!!!!! Our NSX just got the thumbs up on Top Gear this evening. He took it around Laguna Seca and our 15 year old car STILL gets top marks!

Just watched it. Superb edition. The LBB version he was driving looked awesome and it was good to hear some praise from JC for a change.
Great to hear that engine roar....... he's right - you just want it to keep going and going.....
Happy New year to all you NSX owners..... All the best for Hogmany....

Hmm,am i the only sad one who noticed that during the game play his car was (for some of the games at least) a type-R.
No wonder he couldn't get near his game time in the real thing

on the subject of sad... did anyone notice how far down the list of stig times the NSX Type R was? miised that going round the track but it was a fair few below the 130i and R32 - can this be true???

If so they mustav used a fake stig!!!

Honda NSX Type R - 1.31.6
BMW 130 - 1.31.9 - NEW
Golf R32 - 1.30.4 -NEW

Wasn't the NSX on a very wet day though ??

It is repeated on one of the sky channels quite often, I have it on skyplus but don't know how to get it off ??

would make sense if it was but I didn't see a (W) next to the time as it shot past.

I'm sure some teccy would just say plug so and so adapter into the back of your sky plus and upload it straight onto the site... but I havn't got a scooby!

You need to rig up some AV capture device - VCR, DVD-Recorder, PC+Capture Card etc - to get it off Sky+. It in encrypted on the disk so you have to rip it. Obviously a digital capture would be better as then you can convert to mpeg.

Oh no! A Targa?! They're an evil handling bag of cr*p next to the coupe ;)

I guess he didn't really get a choice - I think all NSX's in the USA were Targas for the newer model , I don't think they even got the option for a Coupe - bad for them, good for us, eh?

Cheers

It may just be me but that 'story line' didn't have much to do with the NSX as a car itself. :?

Ok so JC said some nice things about the NSX in the midst of trying to match his Playstation time on the lap. But really it seemed to me that the NSX was really simply a tool for the story rather than an integral part of the story itself.

He could have done the same story with almost any other car.

After all the hype when I finally got to see the epsiode last night (Sky+'d) I was disappointed. :(

NSX-R with Silver Alloys? Looks better than the White ones IMO.

So, the NSX-R posts a 1.33 (W) time. The good news is that this was with the original and quicker Stig (Perry Macarthy I beleive) which matched the Noble despite the NSX-R's semi slick tyres!

The really interesting time to relate to for me was the Zonda that after the 4 sec wet track allowance, is only 6 secs quicker yet will cost you approx £250k more

Well done Honda and Ayrton!

Did anyone notice in the latest episode that the new Golf R32 was 3 seconds quicker than the NSX-R?! They reckon the wet track makes it up to 4 seconds quicker (the R was in the wet...) but that's still pretty astonishing...

...there's wet laps and wet laps....the NSX-R lap was the wettest I've seen he would have been quicker in a canoe.

Don't ever doubt the ability of the Type-R.I have got a clip of the Type-R around a circiut against both the new lambos,a 360 a 911, and M3.The only two cars that beat it were the two lambos, and that was on the last(fourth) lap.

I remember that video. The guy driving the NSX was fantastic.

Only reason the Lambos got past him was because of their much greater power - his skill kept everything else at bay.

I think it was only because the NSX started overheating that they got past in the end...
