As expected...the NSX's lack of power....

The 458 is in a different league there for racing, but I prefer the sound of the tuned 360.
But anyway we are not competing on the road and our little Japanese car is fast enough for fun.

Striaght line performance of the 458 is night and day on track and in this video, even against DK's car. However, as I've said before and as Gumball says, in the real world on Her Majesties black top, the NSX is plenty fast enough.

Thanx for posting the link ...

No real surprises there.

There must be so much technology in the Italia & the Vette did well to stay close, but with over 600 bhp,
thats no surprise.

I wonder what a NSX R would be like with another 100 to 200 bhp?

The Corvette driver has my respect. Plus one FTW!

Regarding the stock NSX, I would say that is fast enough for the the UK roads...but is that enough for you?

If the day arrives that I'm out with all sorts of exotica on a PH run and I dont stay in the pack, then I'll think about more power. Until that unlikely day arrives I'm content with my ponies

604 Ibs-ft of torque in that Corvette V8, that little Ferrari has to make do with only 398! :giggle:

I know we all bang on about BHP, but that new GT3 RS 4.0 is only slightly lighter at 1370 kg than
a stock NSX even with CF bonnet, plastic front wings, rear windows/back screen! I think a NA2 3.2
manual coupe is around 1385 kg? Also the current GT3 is 1380 kg. What I'm saying is BHP are getting
higher and so is the weight even with these are light weight track cars.

I'm guessing that certain things have to be heavier/sturdier to cater for the extra power such as brakes/wheels etc

One of the first thing i was taught at uni was always compare like with like, its hugely unfair to compare the nsx to the 458, how ridiculous! Comparing a 1990 design with a current design is completely unacceptable, what you need to do is look at what ferrai were making in 1990 and compare that to the nsx, there you NEARLY have a fair comparison as the ferarri still has more cubic capacity than the nsx. When i got my nsx a friend came over to have a look and his comment was yes its a beauty but id still rather have an R8, he couldnt understand how unfair his comparison was until it was pointed out to him..by me! Its a testimony to Honda and the NSX that modern supercars are still compared to the nsx, as in this thread. JMHO.

It is only compared as the NSX is the only supercar to come out of Japan.

All others, despite of supercar performance are not exotic enough.

BTW the FD3S was faster than the stock NSX at 4.9 seconds to sixty and it was from the same time.

I don't really know the Japanese model names, so looked it up, that lovely round second generation RX-7?
A little review here saying the UK ones only had 237hp, a very pretty car but those wankels are oh so thirsty.

Back to the clip, That poor fella in the 370Z "where did everybody go?" maybe a GTR would have been fairer.

FD3S is the third generation one and they came with 255 and 280 later on.

I had a few of these ... one stock as per photo (althougth this one has optional glass roof panel), one red widebody with gold/polished rims and Elford Turbo, and a stock looking but agains Elford Turbo in Tender Blue metallic ... loved all of them!
