Hi,

It has been fun over the past 2 years with the 'color change' on my NSX.

The NSX-R color combo has invited the obvious 'is it or isn't it' discussions, and the 'whats a wrap' then questions.

The car certainly attracts more attention finished in white (BIB included) hence why the front plate has remained in situ. It has also stopped my doing anything other than driving and servicing, so no mods, no tweaks, just enjoying the NSX on several drive outs, North Wales last winter (its fun on the white stuff) the 'Ring trip this summer and few PH Sunday Service meets.

However I think the time has come to revert back to the Magnum Grey. This will involve removing the wrap and detailing the paint back to its former deep lustre.

This will for me also involve looking for a change of wheels. I'll be keeping the Washi Grey 02's (before anyone asks if they're for sale), but will be looking to change the Enkeis for something ... the problem is I cant decide which way to go, simple 5 spoke, complex multi spoke or even just to refinish the Enkei. If I do replace, then the Enkei's will be up for sale (without tyres) if anyone is interested.

So the purpose of this thread is to ask for idea's.

I'm looking for a 17/18 combo for daily use. They will need to have offsets that suit the NSX and be of a width that take 215 frt and 265 rrs without looking stretched on the rims.

If you've seen an NSX with aftermarket wheels and thought to yourself, they look good then please post details/photos. Similarly, if you've got a set that you dont use/need and would consider selling, please post details/photo's of these, preferably on the car. I'm not overly concerned about finish as I'll probably refinish to match the NSX.

I'll miss the white'n'black, but feel its time to bring out the Magnum for next summer :)

Thanx in advance

Paul

BBS LM, TE 37 or do the Enkeis in Washi Grey.

+1 Enkeis. And great decision to resurrect the magnum grey... it's such a good colour.

Hi, Paul.

Not sure this will help you or not but if you can browse through the photos in the following link, you may find something you like???

http://minkara.carview.co.jp/car/158/parts/1/3/unit.aspx

This is one of the biggest customer review/feedback site on any cars based in Japan. As always on any forum/site, the information could be too old or wrong. The date format is in YYYY/MM/DD.

It's in Japanese but some of them have the size info which you can understand without reading the Japanese characters.

Personally, I like TE37 or Type-S BBS (but it's in 16/17 combo) but everyone has different taste.

One thing they will make the OEM brakes look small IMHO.

Should be OK if you stick with 17/17 or 17/18. The ones in the pic above are probably 18/19 and apart from swamping the stock brakes, in my opinion they look too big for the car.

Both Volks TE37 or Advan RS are both great choices, not sure of black Advan RS for magnum grey, may be in gunmetal or silver?

James, the colour of those wheels would go well with my brake dust.

I'm liking the Advan's but agree with Mark that those pictured are too big, and clearly too wide as the tyres are stretched across the width which would upset the handling etc

Here's a couple of styles I like ...

Keep the ideas coming please

The Type S specific BBS wheels in the second pic are only available in 16/17 combo

BBS RG-R are closest. I'm not a fan of the BBS LM due to the rim bolts...

I like the pro drive wheel, very close to OEM and can be bought with wider rears

I like these, but not if the only offsets are as per your photo as they are set in far too much.

17/18 with the right offsets and finishe as per the attached could be the strong contender ....

Hi Paul, I might just have to take you up on that offer :)

That funny you mention those wheels!

I have always liked the CSL wheels, especially the way the wider rears dish in. I have a friend thats in the wheel business and does all kinds including the CSL replicas, but he has never come across any sets of CSL's that would fit the NSX correctly. With some mods and hub adapters I guess its possible but not sure how far one would have to go.

Hi James,

Yep, Prodrive 05's are definately a top contender, but would need to re think brake disc size

Kare,

TE's look great, just not sure about the decals ... are these optional??

Top effort on the research SS but you really need to name the wheel make/design and size or we don't know what we're looking at ;)

Rather too many 18/19 combos and silly rear spoilers in the sample pics for my taste.

Just a few ideas ....

Both of the 5 spokes will look good but just need the right colour with no 'bling'.

The EV5 looks similar to the TE37.

Edit: just noticed they're 5zigen FN01R-C. Similar design but the above Enkei's look better.

The RP03 for a 5 spoke wheel ... do look rather tasty!

The EKM series looks a right b1tch to clean :( albeit a nice rim

what sort of doe for 16 & 17 combo with a nice offset at the rear?

Ohh and what would you recommend colour wise for a yellow variant?

EKM3 and PF01 for me in that list Paul.

Problem with allot of new styles Andrew is they dont do 16" anymore.

This is the wheel I was telling you yesterday, very close to OEM look and can be purchased with wider rears, but again no 16". If the Enkeis dont settle with me, I might look at buying them in 17" and 18"

The EKM3 in silver would look great but drive me nuts trying to keep clean

Where as the PF01 gives some of the detailing of the EKM3, but still with the ability to keep clean and waxed

Personally I wouldn't stick with 16's on the front anyway Sudesh, IMHO 17s front and rear as per the >02 cars look best IMHO and have the added benefit of making room for bigger front brakes.

The EKM3 in silver would look great but drive me nuts trying to keep clean
