Still looking but determined to buy NSX once I return from overseas trip - just 3 months to go.

Can you get classic car insurance for an NSX? If so, would it have to be more than 10 years old?

Any recommended brokers?

Thanks

I have mine on a cherished car policy with agreed value.

I use Livingstones as I have found their customer service to be superb. Price wise I tried a few of the others that get mentioned and most were dearer. Only one was cheaper but not by much and so I went for the company I know are decent.

You may want to try PEART Associates.
They have limited mileage policies which work out very reasonable.

My existing policy for my S2000 was through Quoteline Direct, when I changed (upgraded 8) ) to the Nexer, I got a refund  . Time will tell if they will be competitive come renewal time.

We ought to post details of renewal premiums, with brief background of risk, you know the sort of thing, how many years NCD, Points, High / Low risk area etc. May help us all in the longterm?

I'm happy to start:

Quoteline Direct - Fully Comp for my standard 91 car
Premium £792
15,000 miles pa.
Over 40 :?
Self and wife
Business mileage included
6 yers plus NCD
3 Points
Low risk postcode

34 yrs old, garaged, 1992. Unlimited miles, use to and from work etc, Europe cover included, loads of mods all covered. £600 Liverpool Victoria.

Had an accident last year, my fault, cost £5000 to repair. They paid it all, AND my premium this year is lower than last. Can't argue with that.

Honda Revolutions have a discount deal with a few Insurance companies.

One I personally wouldn't use but we have them for the youngsters that pay silly premiums.... then Sky/Herts/A1 and Livingstones.

They all have their different specialities.

For trackday addicts, Herts is good.
For those with lots of mods, Sky is good.
Cherished/Classic policies Livingstones is good.
A1 do special rates for NSXs and S2000s

Last few years, no-one has been able to beat Livingstones for my NSX.

This year - A1 have done it with a stunning price!

Fully Comp for my standard 91 car
Premium £397.57
3,000 miles pa.
Over 30
Self only
1 years NCD (full on another car)
Low risk postcode
No accidents or convictions

Does anyone do less than 3K per year? Sorry don't mean to be retentive on that point, just wondered how much higher annual mileage effected premiums?

Thanks,

James

just got a quote from HIC which rocks!!
(BTW Sammy, the number listed on the HR website is wrong, should be 08451 290290)

with all mods declared, track cover included by default (no need to notify in advance of event) and green card, fully comp with 7 yrs protected no claims and 1000 miles per year.....

£712 with £500 excess!

I'm 36 with a disqualification from 2004 and a claim a month ago and the car kept on driveway.

Or put another way:

71.2 pence per mile  , probably the single largest running expense

My quote was £495 for unlimited mileage and also no need for any security other than being garaged!

So the limited mileage, extra security etc with a different company brough it down by £100. However bear in mind that both quotes are also for a full agreed value policy so if the worst happens, no argueing, they have already pre-agreed what my car is worth (and it is more than some of the adverts you see bandied about, so they do accept you need to pay more for good condition/low miles etc)
