I am planning on selling a lot of my NSX models off, I have various ones from the 1:18 scale Kyosho type S (white or if tempted by enough ££'s Orange as well) and 1:18 Revell Red/Black NSX through to lots of the 1:43 Ebbro models, 1:24 Tamiya Kits and even a Takata Scalextric car.

I'm planning on keeping most of the Kyosho Beads 1:64 models I have but do have duplicates of some of them.

I'll list all these in here and would prefer if people are interested that these are sold at Japfest.

If anyone wants any specific models I can see what I have, or possibly point you in the right direction.

Do you have a pre-facelift Red/Black NSX with the 7 spokes by any chance?

Do you have a pre-facelift Red/Black NSX with the 7 spokes by any chance?

The only pre-facelift models with the 16/17 wheels made (that I know of) are Kyosho Acura NSX's in 1:18 or Minicar Fan Special Models in 1:43, the latter go for around £100 each as they made less than 1000 in each colour. I have a White one, but to be honest the quality of them is not as good as the Ebbro 1:43 models.

I could (big could) look at either getting some correct sized wheels and doing one offs with correct number plates and any other mods people have, but that would be if I ever have an amazing amount of time on my hands as I used to make models to quite a high level.

I agree. I have a red Kyosho pre-facelift with the right wheels.

It wouldn't be the end of the world to buy one, dismantle it, mask and areshole the roof berlina black...

There is a new Auto art 1:18 1990 NSX coming out shortly, in red, silver or black, according to grandprix legends, so subject to change.

That's a really bad model, I had 2 and threw them away.

That's the difference between a toy & a scale model.

And sadly, some scale models are merely toys with elaborate detailing.

Silver and black later perhaps:

I think the red one is coming out first, as thats the only one on the official Autoart site at the moment.

Colour's perfect; it's the wheels & cam covers that are incorrect! ;)

We have two NSX models.

The red one with the seven spoke wheels and a silver early NSX with the five spoke wheels (looks just like Linda's car).

No idea who the manufacturers were.

the Autoart model really does look absolutely superb ... but honestly I cannot justify the price tag

I asked for an opinion in work and all i got was the following responses from people:

1. "have you no/any ****ing sense?!"

2. "You have a real one why the **** do you want a model one?"

3. "If you want to look at the engine bay go outside to your garage and look"

heart of hearts i cant really argue with above :(

will stick it on my 'gift list' for Christmas and see if anyone bites

LOL!!! :)

This did make me chuckle!

But have to admit if I was to spend 200 quid (Inc tax and possible customs charges) on a model NSX I would prefer to spend on actual items for my real NSX; which is what I need to do if I'm honest

Nobby, your colleagues talk some sense. I've seen mint 1/18th scale Kyosho models are fetching over £200 (unopened box), I would love one but thats way too expensive. I have a silver Revell model and it cost me about £35 quid, so thats ok for me.

Nick Graves

I have a Kyosho; dusty in the display case. The box has gone the way of all tree pulp, probably.

Like anything 'arty' and rare it probably is (was!) of investment potential, so the Philistines are in fact wrong.

But mine is for the hell of it & investment ill-considered.

Mind you, give me a bottle of '48 Chateau Lafite-Rothschild or something & I'd probably treat it just as hedonistically. I could do my 'reverse Jesus' trick & turn it into water...

Like the real thing, these models probably have a rarity and a rising value as a result.

You could always test their authenticity....Try to return your model to its original condition. ie buy a replacement box. If its a true NSX it'll cost a fortune! LOL
