Gentlemen, and ladies, thank you all most sincerely for your gracious thoughts and good wishes.
The CT scans belie my general state of health--which is great (!). The Dialysis is going fine, every second night, and I feel---I FEEL, that if you were to strap an F-4 to my bum, with my favourite missile (Sidewinder), I'd take on anything that the VC could throw at me. But, of course, that was my undoing---all those chemicals, including "Agent-Orange" has done for most of us involved in those far-off wars.
The oncologist wants MORE tests to decide which course of attack might work best. It looks like a drug called "Suniciniv" which has particularly nasty side-effects, but is handled by the liver, reather than the 10% of ONE kidney still remaining.
I shall keep you posted, but thanks again for all of you gunning for me. J.C.

Good luck with the new drugs, even if they do sound like a bastard child of a Datsun Sunny & a Honda Civic.

JC,

I'm glad to hear that you are fighting the good fight in good ol' military way. I remember the chat we had at Japfest last year, about flying Buccaneers up here at Lossie, and I have a thought that might put a little smile on your face. Watch this space, I could tell you now, but that will spoil it.

Thanks for the memory, Jim. The engine that's blanked off was the one which had a nasty habit of failing, and with it, that side of Blown Flaps !!! i.e., about half of your total lift---for those of you not of an aviation bent
In the early days of flying the thing, this would invariably happen on approach, with disastrous consequences. That was MOD thinking at the time----wait until a few good men are killed before admitting that there is a problem.
I'm off to Germany on Friday for a week, where I shall have a GOOD look at their methods and facilities---their success rate with cancer knocks ours into the proverbial. 'Might give me some ideas. J.C.

Shocking there is such a disparity between 2 supposedly similar, developed countries.

Hope the trip goes well.
