Interior door handle wanted (not by me)

A Club member rang asking if I could advise where he can get one other than Honda (they quoted over £400 plus VAT!!!)

Does anyone know anywhere where he may source a more reasonably priced bit of plastic door handle?

I forgot to ask which side, but if anyone has one - I will ring him.

Sam

Dali racing does what it calls a 'door fix-it thingy' for something like $75 for both doors, that replaces the cast aluminium bit that breaks! I looked for this after my drivers door handle broke (basically down to the cable stretching, and the door 'opening' at the same point that the handle runs out of travel!)

look at this, http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse_part.cfm?focus=1001

he does do them individually, but just remember the yanks drive on the other side when asking for 'drivers side'!

when you fit it, remember to adjust the cable so the door handle releases the door BEFORE the handle is fully open.

I cheated and repaired the broken casting with 'lumiweld'.. fingers crossed it's fixed...

reading it back it does sound like a bit of an advert, but really it's not, he just seems to have been doing NSX stuff for long enough to know what's needed! Hope that helps!

or there's always this tasty option (http://scienceofspeed.com/products/interior_performance_products/NSX/ScienceofSpeed/billet_door_handles/)

very nice, but you still have to attach it to the aluminium casting that's broken on the handle you are trying to replace...(ie. the bit Dali sell, and honda want to make you buy the whole thing for)

do look cool tho...

Thank you both - I have just rung the chap and passed on your advice, plus the number of someone I know who is breaking an NSX and he is now a happy chappy.
