I dont usually do this anymore because of the amount of time involved products to buy and so forth. But I have car show this weekend and wanted the NSX to look its best so spent the past 2 days doing a mayor detail, paint correction, swirl removal, polish wax and seal.

The finished result:

Looking very good :)

But after looking at the photo with the cloths and buffers in, is there any paint left:D

Thats the compound at the start that does that to the compound pad, a little pressure to cut the paint correctly, that why I use the bigger random rotary machine. Then I use the small DA [dual action] random orbital for the rest and swap to fresh cloths and pads through the process to keep on top of the finished glazed/wet look, and seal the paint.

That looks brilliant Sudesh - two days well spent I would say.

Y1 is having its yearly intensive clean in a few weeks time, but sadly I do not have the necessary skills (and balls!) to attack the car with power lools, so I'm 'getting people in'!

Yeah I was going to get a guy in to do mine as its a long process, but my bro wanted his 911 done and was in more of a rush than me to get it sorted so I sent the guy to him. But with the car show this weekend and the weather here being very nice at the momnet and giving good forecast for all weekend, I decided to get to work. I've always done the detailing myself with stone chip removal etc, but it just take up allot of time.

The pics arnt great, my camera is 12.2MP and was set at 4000x3000 in size so when I loaded the photos to photobucket the color and edges are off slightly. Will take some better ones tomorow.

Another beautiful job, Sudesh.
It would be nice if we can see your NSX at one of the events this year.

2D photo is always difficult to show the actual result of the work you carried out. The wheels looked great as well. Are they refurbished in the past or just polished?

Hi Ary

Shift knob and boot are the same NSX-R ones I have had on for a couple of years.

Sudesh I was under the impression that you had an NSX Type S shiftnob?

Cheers,

Ary

I did have for a while near the start, but changed it for the NSX-R one and the NSX-R shift lever. I didnt like how the type-S one sat so high on the standard OEM lever.

Hi Kaz!

Yeah I would love to get to one of the shows myself to meet everyone, not sure yet when that will be as myself and a friend run the NIPISTONHEADS events here and thats been keeping us busy. Then I have other events I do through the year and I was going to try and organise an NSX day here too. But I will at some time get over.

I didnt do anything to the wheels other than use a claybar and polish to keep the brake dust off and stop the paint from pitting. They are nice, but do have some marks, nothing major yet.

I agree Sudesh the Type S is way too big. That was one of the bits I missed about my NSX-R.

At the time ( 2007 ) I was told the stalk was not available, so I bought an extra shift stalk and had one made.

I also purchased a spare NA1-R shiftknob as I was told they were discontinued, so I am saving one for the next NSX. :)
