Hi,

I managed to get hold of another Bose stereo for my car, but when I removed mine, I have an extra cable soldered onto the back and I have no idea if I need it or not. It has an aerial type adapter on it and is just above where the actual aerial plugs in. I am thinking it might be to power the aerial??? If so did they change designs on the stereos so this lead was no longer required? Anyone any ideas?

Cheers.

I'm almost sure thats for the built in antenna which is in the rear glass hatch. Is you car JDM?

Hi Jason,

Had an quick check, I remember your car now and if its the same one [white JDM] then that would explain the second antenna.

I dont think UK cars came with this, so what I think your doing is replacing the standard JDM head unit for the UK unit to pick the stations up correctly etc.

You wont need the second aerial input, just plug in as normal.

Hi Sudesh,

Phew, thats a relief. I was starting to think I'd need to get the soldering iron out.

Thanks a lot for your very quick reply, much appreciated.
