Reg number NSX1 is doing the rounds of the various rip off cherished number merchants.

Estimated retail price varies somewhat from £25k to  £55k  I assume only one of the dozen or so retailers offering it for sale actually own this plate (Dale did say he had sold it) the rest are just trying to eek out a megre living :x

http://www.regtransfers.co.uk currently wins the mark up stakes from my short search.

Dale - your offered price to NSXCB members obviously included a favourable discount :)

According to my telephone conversation with Dale a couple of weeks ago the plate had been sold with the car. it may well be that the guy who bought Dale's car & plate has subsequently put it up for sale, but if anyone is interested in buying it I would recommend a private chat with Dale in case he feels obliged to divulge how much he let it go for, which will in turn lend some strength to any low ball offer being negotiated with the seller.
Knowledge is power as they say

Of course what he let it go for and what it was originally for sale at from Two Mills, is another story!

Hi All

Yes the plate was offered to all before I sold the car.
He wanted the car 1st but then decided the plate was worth having as well.

If they get the figure on that plate it would make a nice profit :)

I do miss my NSX mainly on nice sunny days when I used to out for a play by saying I will be back in a bit and turn up 4 hours later or more.

....going off on a slight tangent, NSX 50 is up for auction on May 5th/6th, reserve price of £650.

See DVLA website http://www.dvla-som.co.uk/home/en/Auction/p/next & type NSX into search field.

Not bad, when people are asking £500+ for *LETTER* *NUMBER* NSX.

I have L6NSX for sale as it goes. £400 should secure...

Although there is nothing special about j14nsx, I paid 299 for it direct from DVLA.

Do these plates make your car go faster? I don't see the point personally.

...always check the DVLA website first for your choices, the companies in the mags advertising cherished plates will advertise the same plate with their 50% markup & get the plate from the DVLA....

don't see why - look here (http://www.dvla-som.co.uk/home/en/Search/p/prefix?searched=yes&prefix=J&numbers=all&letter1=N&letter2=S&letter3=X&pricefrom=&priceto=&x=116&y=12)

Darren's right, no mistake. There's no way I would spend more than what I did on something so frivolous :D

The H,J,L plates were reasonable prices. For my car I could only get H or J.

A & C were more expensive, at around £350 IIRC.

A case of a misunderstanding methinks! I read the comment as 'I don't really see the point in spending £299 on a plate'. Stick, wrong end of

Ah, I get what you meant now. Yes I may seem to have contradicted myself. What I was getting at is paying lots more than the 299 that the DVLA charges for basic plates, plates costing 10's of thousands for example.

I'm not sure if this info is useful to anybody,

but NSX 1 is currently on a silver NSX with Senna "S" graphics in Reading.

The car is also in Autotrader for 35k

(i'm new by the way, so hello)

hello bfuller and welcome

thanks for the tip, but most of us are familiar with NSX 1 previously owned by Dale (known on here as 'Welsh Dragon') and sold to 'Amjad' in Reading 6 months ago.

see here (http://nsxcb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=201) for more
