That looks like the Zortec that was on Dale's car that is now up for sale as a salvage car.

I asked the seller for some more info ... response was:

"Not sure about the make and stuff, its a 95 vehicle and it looks bend because its come out of the exhaust mounting from one side."

Ary: I think you're right...

[interesting to see that NewReg.com has reg "NSX 1" up for sale at £30k]

Although I would like a NSX plate, I'm not sure who would pay £30K for such a plate abeit a nice special one, recession or not!

Thought I'd take a wander over to look at the exhaust, given that it's only up the road from me...

Seller has no clue what it is: he bought the car as "a project" but it didn't work out... car's currently parked up in a yard behind a row of houses, the rear jacked up by the wheels sitting on another pair (might even be the fronts: I didn't bother looking at the front end but could see it was mangled). The vehicle's in a bit of a mess.

The reason the zorst looks so wonky in the pics is that it's come off the hanger on the right hand side - looks like the rubber bush has all perished, but the exhaust still has the hanger to attach it to.

It looks pretty straight otherwise - a bit rusty but the tips actually look straight and it would probably clean up OK with a bit of "Astonish" cookware cleaner and a scourer pad.

It looks as if the exhaust was fabricated to remove the cats altogether...

so presumably it would need to be taken off come MoT time?

Assuming nobody bids on it on Ebay, I'd be surprised if the seller wouldn't take £50 for it if you'd be prepared to take it off the car yourself and take it away... I have his details, in case anyone's gung ho enough to try :D

cheers

Is he parting out the whole car?

Ewan

Yep, he's breaking it - though it looks like it's had a hard life and presumably been crashed...

it would be interesting to see what parts are left on the car and would be useful.

Interior?

...when I spoke to him about wanting a seat (so that I could used the runners for my seat project) he said £450!!! A politely declined his kind offer

yeah it was the drivers seat I was thinking!!

wouldn't mind having a look at other bits and bobs too though (if sensibly priced)

Didn't look, Jim - I was having a nose about the car when the seller arrived, and it was jammed between a wall and another car so not a huge amount of clearance to go & have a look.

He's selling a few other bits from it on Ebay - bumper & rear lights at the moment, and had a recent door sale

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-NSX-offside-door-complete-with-window-mechanism_W0QQitemZ160326073074QQcmdZViewItemQQptZ UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item1603260 73074&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A13%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

so I guess you'll want to get in touch with him soon if you want to get interior bits since the car's parked outside :)

cheers Ewan,

maybe I shouldn't because I'll only spend loads on bits don't really need, just because they are there, but on the other hand I might kick my self if I don't!!!

Oh decissions decissions!!

aye, I think he's maybe a bit optimistic in his pricing - maybe he doesn't realise his target market is so small :)
