Hi there

Firstly I am glad to have joined this forum and I am no stranger to the Honda Type R Series, I am a good friend with Bazza on here (Vtecdirect) and previously drove both his NA2 NSX and his NA1 NSX-R and if you have any doubts about me he can vouch for me as he has known me most of my life :-)....

Back to the point

I probably only know one member here BAZZA - Hi Mate :-) but I am a former / regular member on ITR-DC2, DC5 and EK9 forum and a few more.
Basically my father owns a few TV channels and my brother is a production manager and has been in the DVD production business for the past 8yrs.
We have a professional camera crew and my brother was the production manager for the Farnborough International Air Show 2008.

JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW THIS WONT BE SOME CHEAP HOME MADE DVD. My brother is in touch with a leading Motorsport DVD supplier and the DVD's will be on sale and available from all major DVD retailers, but we are trying to allow a months grace for NSX owners to buy this prior to its release in store.
We are based in the South East of KENT so a lot of filming will be in our local(ish) area and hopefully on a Kent / South East based Track as I have contactsboth at Goodwood and Brands Hatch

Personally in my history on the DC2 forum I arranged and held a Rolling road day for the South East and I got this featured in Banzai Magazine and have recently been in discussion with my brother to release some Specialist Honda Type R DVD’s.

Following a few business meetings we have started working on a production list of DVD's focused on the Honda Type R series of cars and these will be produced as follows:

DVD 1 - Integra Type R (DC2, DB8 and DC5 Facelift & Pre-facelift)
DVD 2 - Integra Type R (DC2 & DC5 Race Cars)
DVD 3 - Civic Type R (EK9, EP3, JDM EP3, FN2, FD2 & FD2 Mugen RR)
DVD 4 - NA1-NSX-R, NA2-NSX-R, NA1-NSX and the NA2-NSX
we are trying to include the NSX-R GT also (but this is harder to source)

(A DVD based on the S2000 is also in consideration)

Our main aim is to use cars currently registered on this forum and the other forum's for their specified model’s such as EK9.org etc.

Going forward DVD's will be sold independently but we are currently in discussion with a few businesses to provide a diecast model of the car related to each DVD with a release time aimed for Christmas 2009.

NSXCB Owners Cars

In order to be able to get these DVD’s produced we will need cars and owners to star in them, so we will be looking for applicants to come forward who are reliable and willing to be interviewed, have their cars filmed and have details of their cars included within the DVD’s we produce.

In order to find the best and correct cars for the DVD’s we will be looking for the following criteria (that may change depending on further meetings):

Car Colour - All Welcome (Preferably one of each colour for each model/Spec)
Car Condition - As MINT as possible
Car Age - All models / versions will be included in the DVD’s
Specification - The aim will mainly be on Standard or as close to standard as possible with SOME modified versions included in the films including interviews with the owners and why they have changed the car the way they have.

Clearly this project is its early stages and we are basically gauging interest at present so if anyone is interested in applying their cars for the DVD’s please can you send me full specs and details of the cars with the best pictures (preferably looking for 8 or more various shots of each car so I can see the condition) and make decisions on which will be best for the DVD’s going forward.

But if there is anything else you want to add, see or have included in the DVD's please feel free to put all your idea's forward as we would rather bring out a DVD that you would like to buy and own.

Please remove any number plates from the pictures for car identity reasons and only email direct as below if you are serious and reliable to participate in this going forward.

Email - ccg.productions@hotmail.co.uk (ccg.productions@hotmail.co.uk)

If you have any problems, questions or queries about this please pm me.

Anyway I hope you will be interested in me advertising and producing a DVD based on cars within this forum and look forward to your replies.

Thanks in advance Carl.

Thanks for the replies to the two members who have so far.

Anyone else interested as if not I will have to ditch the idea and maybe use the cars offered in another DVD, but I thought it'd be a good idea for a one off opportunity?

The problem is that perhaps you have not been informed of the limited number of NSXs in this country. As far a we know and rumors appart, there are only 2 NA1-Rs, 1 NA2-R and one Type S. As for the NSX-R GT unless you know something we don't you can pretty much forget about it as there were only five OEM made.

There are perhaps only a couple of independednt shops that can work on the NSX, none of them are real NSX tuners in the Japanese sense, just a few importers that pretend they are. There are not realiable sourcers of parts in the UK at the moment, unless you count HUK. The few that we had had been dicking us around and we are fed up with them. International ones can be expensive due to, shipping, tax/duties and plain theft.

Not many members modify their cars past what is considered "normal", meaning wheels and exhaust. So as you can see the NSX community as a whole is not in the same boat as the EK, EP, DC, CL etc.

I don't mean to speak on behalf of the community, it is simply my observation of the NSX zeitgeist.

AR

Hi mate I can appreciate this fully and know where your coming from. I am hoping to locate and use Bazza's old NA1 NSX-R and as for the NS2 NSX-R - who ever would offer it or want to join, the Type S has already been emailed over and discussed and will be present and the NSX-R GT (no chance I doubt lol).

BUT would you prefer a section in a mass honda dvd like the Honda legends style one with some DC2,s EK9's, FD2's etc?

Basically if this will be a hard one to do BUT you do want one with your cars in it then please let me know your views and ideas for a dvd dedicated to these and what you wou ld like to see in the dvd and how you would like it made.

I will get a few ideas together in the meantime and get them back to you asap.

Is it 'nationofzeros' or 'crazymixedupkid' who has the NA1-R? The NA2-R owner is 'fuzilov'.

For modified ones there's Amo's who isn't shy in showing it off. For track modified ones there is mine, modarr's and ctrlatldelboy's. There is also RobFenn's track NSX, except that is more a pile of bits than a car at the moment. Mine is running now, but when time comes for filming it might be a pile of bits again. I'll need a schedule to know when I can make the car available, but I won't put off working on it just waiting.

The quality of filming on track will come down to how much you are going to invest in the DVD. Are you going to hire a circuit for private use so you can have a camera chase car? Or ask a track day organiser for some private time so some quality filming can be done?

I wouldn't ask what we prefer for the DVD. Your the director, it's your investment. If the quality is high, people will buy it, but I also don't hope you're looking just to sell it to us, you should be thinking of a wider audience.

Err.. there must be more than one Type S then? I'm pretty sure the one AR referred to is mine and I haven't been in contact. Who's is the other one, maybe a Type S reunion is on the cards? :)

Despite my car being a less than shy and retiring colour it's owner isn't as show'y so I can't say I'm particularly interested in my car being on DVD but I am tightfisted git so if there's free track day in it for me I could be persuaded.

nationofzeros owns the ex Ian, ex AR, ex Bazza, Charlotte Green NA1 NSX-R.

We believe Mr Flemke, of Pistonheads fame but not a memeber here, owns the other Charlotte Green NA1 NSX-R, perhaps he'll bring along his McLaren F1 for comparative purposes :)

Cheers

QuietJim is a regular at the 'ring and wrote up a nice story of one of his visits, with pics of the NSX on track, here... http://www.teammoomoo.com/May08blog.html

The ITR one is April mate (or EK9) which ever comes best for first option, NSX later in year, around the time you say if all goes to plan :-)

Hi everyone,
As I said we will be starting the DVD's based on the Honda Type R series as soon as the first DVD has been finalised and completed for sale, this is now done and is available worldwide (images of this to show the quality attached).
In the meantime I will start sending the necessary details to the owners of the cars who have already been in touch, and if there is anyone else who is interested in having their cars featured please contact me on the acttached email address asap.
My Brothers website is now also up and running to show this is a genuine DVD release to be made. Below is a link to his site to date.
http://www.cmgproductions.co.uk/home.html
(I know its cmgproductions, this changed after I set the hotmail account up for it) :-(
Please contact me on ccg.productions@hotmail.co.uk if you are interested in being featured with your car in the DVD.
Kind Regards
Carl
