Anyone has an idea how to transfer video from the N96 to a PC.

There are instructions everywhere for the opposite, but not the other way around.

Cheers,

Can't you just bluethooth it? (ie send video clip by bluethooth).

Thanks for that, I was thinking that the cable was the best way.

And if your PC doesn't have bluetooth capability(mine doesn't  ) use a USB 2 card reader.Transfer the movie onto a memory card, then put the memory card into the card reader, and then hook up the card reader to your computer and transfer it.
Job done.

Cheers,

Ivor.

Use a mini usb to normal usb cable and search for PDA device on 'my computer' and then open to search for the memory card for the video. :dunno:

As SS says, the easiest way is via the USB cable. Just plug it in and it will recognise the phone as another hard drive in explorer or file manager.

I take it you have the latest firmware on your N96, many problems with the software on the first ones. . .

Well I got the phone last week from Orange. How do I check that it has the latest version? I might just go back to my trusted 6230i!!!

Type *#0000# on your handset, this will display your version.

The latest version is: 11.018 as far as I can see.

My mate had trouble with the phone and managed to cure all the software glitches by installing the latest firmware (free from Nokia site) then defragging the memory.
Don't forget to save everything from your phone memory before updating the firmware.

Cheers for the tip, it keeps losing connection, I'll take it back to the shop and let them work it out before I loose my patience with it!

i ve done a phone-software-update and thought the bachup on the sd-card in the phone is save. i have lost all dates in the reminder :((. the only luck i have was a backup on the pc i ve done 10 days ago.

the pc may recognise the n96 only as a drive , if you have set the usb-mudus in the settings on "datatransfer"
