I'll start this off but may need a hand organising as I'm going to get really busy at the end of the month.

Could make it end of September depending on how desperate people are.

Luke
Clutch set 98+ (minus flywheel)
Clutch set for A/c compressor 98+
My roll bars that I brought last time need to be shipped with this order (MJ still has them waiting)
Brakes... I may need some more pads as spares - will have to check

Luke,

Have you advised MArk that we want to do this and ensured that he can help pull this together at his end?

What shipping / import methods were used last time? Should eb worth repeating as it worked very well!

I've done nothing!

I haven't even sorted my bits yet;)

Maybe end of Sept is more realistic from my part, I thought we'd have more interest TBH and I think it needs to be a fair size for it to work as well as it did last time.

Ok,

I've emailed Mark this morning to ask if he will support this GB!

As soon as I here back I will update this thread with order process etc.

From previous experience, decide what you need and place the order DIRECT via the Dali website http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse.cfm?catalog_use=NSX and always check the item is in stock (green light glowing)

I'm hoping we can keep this to end of August close date as I need service items for September.

Great news, Mark can assist with this GB, see his responses below on how to place orders via the website. FINAL date is August 31st.

Hi Mark,
It’s service time for a few owners, plus some other bits are required.
OK
If we can organise things this side of the pond, can you assist us as before with the shipping please?
sure
We are thinking of having Aug 31st as close date, would this work for you if all orders are placed direct on the website?
yes
If this is ok, how do buyers stop short of adding shipping to each order, and would you be able to invoice one of us for the combined shipping?
what each person would do is place the order in the normal way, and then in the memo field at the end of the checkout process say "I'm in the group shipping deal" and NOT PAY. I will send them a PP request for the parts only. If they are going to do an e-check through PayPal for payment (as opposed to an instant transfer), then they need to do that by 8/19 so that the 2 weeks it takes to clear does not affect shipping the other peoples parts.
I hope we can do this as the last GB with you was very well received here.
Regards, Paul

BUt its not for the engine bay its to replace the rear anti roll bar ... stiffens the rear to compliment the front R bar abd chassis bars and should dial in some extra steering sharpness

All,

There are four orders placed and paid so far. For those paying by standard Paypal you have some time left to place further orders. Please note the following:

Mark wrote: Today will need to be "last call" for e-checks if you guys want the parts to ship Sept 1.

With the shipping day planned as Sept 1st, please try to place any additional orders as early as possible to avoid delays for others

Final point - if you require any items that are special order, they probably wont make this GB. Remember, if ti has a GREEN light on the website, then it is most likely in stock.

Amo, some of your stuff Mark can get but will take time. Maybe you can still order, then let the rest of us know when they are ready for shipping and use this as the basis for the next GB?

Many Thanx, Paul

I'll have a couple of oil filters.

I placed my order this morning and am awaiting teh paypal request so I can pay minus shipping.

Paul, Thanks for your efforts with organising this... next time you mail MJ please could you check he has my NSX-R strut bars from the previous group buy? I'm hoping they will be able to come over with this order and although they're already paid for I will of course pay their bit of shipping and customs.

Thanks,

Couple of questions please. How does the shipping get split please? Similarly I assume the import duty get split pro rata but how is it collected?

Thanks

For the previous shipment, the duties and VAT were split pro-rata based on value and is fairly straight forward.

For shipping, in the last order there were both heavy and bulky items that would have cost the individuals approx $200 each. Combined, the shipping reduced to around $200, so the action was simply to divide the costs. This is of course applied with some common sense so that a member ordering a light bulb wont pay an equal share to one buying a set of brake discs.

Hope that makes sense. The clear objective for all is to save costs on all the elements, parts, shipping and duties.

Parts:
Just so everyone knows we have hit the "freight" size box for the main pile, the brake rotors will need to be in a separate box as they weigh too much to be shipped in with anything else. There is is still plenty of room in the main cabin for parts other than heavy bits like rotors or pads however. ;)

Suggestions:
Paul asked me to post some cost effective suggestions.

I would encourage someone to get a case or 2 of the Denso filters (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse_part.cfm?focus=2333) to split - they are the basically the old "long" OEM ones no longer sold in the USA, and at $5.50 each you can't beat them. When I run out I may not be able to get any more at that price.

Another part that can ship several to a box and cut the shipping rate "per part" compared to you getting one on your own by 50-80% are OEM front spoilers (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse_part.cfm?focus=2330) or any other spoiler.

The Unobtanium Gold keys (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse_part.cfm?focus=914) are a similar OEM item where it might be $12-20 to ship in a separate envelope and $1-2 in the "Big Box" or basically $0.00 taped to the side of a spoiler etc..

If you have not looked in the "New Parts Pile (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/info/whats_new.cfm)" lately you might find something fun.

Payment:
PayPal echecks are a no go after today so you do not delay everyone else. You can still do PP instant transfers or use your CC through PP. Wire transfers work even though the bank does not have a SWIFT code - it gets there anyway since "the Fed" knows where we are.

Shipping:
I have sent Paul a "master spreadsheet" with everyones orders on it updated as we go so he knows how to divide up the spoils. We are still looking at Sept. 1-2 for a ship date depending on how long the last echeck takes to clear. Typical Air freight shipping takes ~ 5 days from here to there.

Senninha
22-08-2008, 03:41 PM
I understand that there are one or two pending orders that are going with e-cheque for payment. This is fine BUT, it is pushing the shipping date from the 1st to the 5th of September.

Is everyone that has ordered and already paid comfortable with this delay?

If others are ok and you are paying with e-cheque then TODAY IS THE VERY LAST DAY PLEASE!!

regards, Paul

Ferris Bueller
22-08-2008, 04:19 PM
I'm OK but I need the parts by Sept 22nd.

As an aside, how many people's orders are destined to end up being used at Norton Way? Mine and yours are, who else?

Senninha
25-08-2008, 05:14 PM
Yeah, I'm pretty sure a fair amount of the parts will pass through the Norton garage ....

Planned shipping day is the 4th of September to allow for an e-cheque clearance. That was the last one for this GB guys/girls.

Mark is still able to accept and process orders, a quick reminder of the process for anyone needing a last minute order ...

1. find item from Dali website
2. if it ha a green light, go ahead and order
3. add more items as required
4. once you have ordered all you need, proceed to check out
5. enter your contact details, confrim order but DO NOT pay for the goods
6. Mark will confirm items are in stock and process your order, usually via email
7. once the order is confirmed, Mark will invoice via Paypal for your prompt payment
8. Orders ship on the 4th

Once I have the final total for shipping to UK and import duties, these will be applied and split for final payments.

regards, Paul

If not, I'm in Cambs so I could meet up with someone on their way down from TQO HQ.

I've contacted Mark about a few mundane things, it will all be paypal so should be sorted in a day or two at most.

Are there any views on which Oil Filter to go for? Was happy to go OEM until I realised it wasn't that simple any more...

I'll need my stuff to get to Norton Way. I've got nothing big, if there's a selection of stuff going I'd appreciate jumping on that. I'll be away till mid Sept when the parts arrive, if they still need shifting after that I'll see if I can help out transporting stuff as I'll be going to Norton Way shortly afterwards.

Hi Amo -

Actually is does not - that is for the OIL level in the catch can. the idea being that if you see any at all you better do a leak down test and then have your tuner killed. This part is mostly for FI cars, NA cars typically do not have significant blowby or need a catch can unless the motor is clapped out.

I do like this one, but there is no way of checking the coolant level.

Paul.Ive shipped over 200 of those over the years, so someone must have one over there, although the newer ones are nicer than the older ones.

if you have a flashlight, you can take a peek in there by removing the top in the am when the motor is cold and or stick a screwdriver into the top and drop it down until it hits the slosh baffle inside like using an oil dipstick. either way you can see where the coolant is without much effort.

....and I have to pose the question - when was the last time your car lost coolant or the coolant level changed except after a major service? my (cold) level hasn't moved up or down in 2 years.

if you like the "OEM style" better than the round, that is this link here (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse_part.cfm?focus=2337).

The new red one as pictured above is what I have installed.

You will need 2 x new jubilee clips for the main hoses rather than the OEM clips as the piping is shorter than the OEM. Other than this it took < half hour to install.

I went for red to tie in with the OEM covers.

As for checking levels, I saved and transfered the fluid from the old plastic bottle, checked it once install was complete and to date have not lost a drop!

Very nicely made!

I got on the fabricators butt about the in/out piping - they are a bit longer now, however if you reuse the old hoses I do recommend new hose clamps like these:

Ok boys n girls,

Mark has advised that most of the items are shipping today. There are a few late items / orders including some items for Amo.

Mark will confirm later all the parts that are shiping today. For those items that miss the boat, they can fom the basis of a further GB.

Amo, as several parts are for you, can you kick-off a new GB thread? I'll pm you details of the parts that will be starting the GB if this is ok? Alternatively, if Mark has your email he can send you details direct.

I will be getting costs for shipping later and will advise all of the splits. I'd prefer not to do this by paypal to save further costs for all. With the last GB, shipping costs were collected by Matt when items were colected, or Kevin directly. Hopefully we can do the same as it worked well last time.

To avoid further costs for all, can you please ensure you take your addition monies when you call to collect your parts. No payment = no parts. I have paid for both elements so a swift payment will be appreciated ahead of the bill arriving at the end of the month.

If you want to use paypal then please ensure you add the appropriate amount to cover their charges.

I'll update soon

regards, Paul

Either PM or public post makes no odds to me.

Also, where is Matts place that the bits are being sent to? Might be useful to know if I'm going to have to take a little drive to pick things up :)

Have we any idea which parts didn't make it with this shipment other than Amo's hatch?

Ordered but not coming this time:
Amo (not paid) Lexan rear hatch
JC Yeats RHD CF rad deflector (not paid)
Luke Johnson
Dali Racer Racing replacement Seat Cushion leather (paid)
JDM Type-R Chassis lower bar (paid)

Luke, I dont know if Mark has mailed you direct, but the bars arrived with one damaged which he will not ship and has replacement coming for you.

If someone wants to take the lead on these parts, they can be here end of the month with a little co-ordination.

I'm sorry but I'm just too busy at work to be able to guide this next batch over the line. For the time and volume of parts it really wont take someone to much effort. Mark appears to be on-line more thna most of us put together .... I'm yet to wait more than an hour for any response throughout the whole process.

Can you collect mine? Pay you when I see you? ;):D SS

No problem Kare, I'm collecting new nuts for NSX 2000 too

FB, if you can help out with some Norton parts that would be good for anyone interested. Can I suggest they pm you direct to advise you about the parts?

I'm up for doing a mini shippment when my bits arrive if others with outstanding parts agree.

Most of the stuff should fit in a box with Amo's hatch so we could just share shipping on one box.

Luke

There will be at least 2 boxes with the list that we have at the moment, and if Amo pulls the trigger on half his wish list there will be a few more. Please remember that metal objects cannot be packed with non metallic objects like easily scratched plastic windows and easily broken CF parts unless the box is filled with injected foam, and then the CF part would be in another box anyway due to the shape.

The # of boxes is always minimized as is practical.

At present I haven't contact TQO. Where is he located? FB, this may be a big ask but.......what vehicle may you be travelling in when you pick up this stuff? The reason I ask is that in a moment of madness I bought a type -r bonnet!! I'm not quite sure how I'll collect at present? Hi,

I'm not the one who has forked out for the shipping and duty Paul is, so it is he you are waiting on not me. I'm under orders not to release anything until he says so! It is all safely in my factory though - I have not opened any boxes though so apart from the ones that are obvious (bonnet, sway bars etc) I don't know what is where and there are 8 boxes!

Paul will forward you my details once he works out the costs per person and you settle up I believe. :)

Evening All (as Dixon of Dock Green would say)

Apologies for the delay but I can assure you all that it is worth the wait.

Firstly we should all thank Mark for his help in co-ordinating this GB and for his quick thinking when adding a few late items and 'forgetting' to add the extra value ;)

Secondly, we also owe Mo a Thank you on the back of his surprise delivery. I have been able to save money for all of us with Mo's contribution saving all of us about 35% of the duty costs

So I now have all the numbers and in no particular order, will be pm'ing one and all straight after this post.

Having saved everyone money I dont want to now encounter costs for using paypal. Therefore, I will advise Matt of the individual costs and ask that you pass the cash when collecting. If I'm collecting your parts from Matt you can obviously pay me in person :)

Any Problems, please let me know, and of course, please let Matt know when you will be calling for your parts to give him time to remove them from his car!!!

Thanx for your patience

I've now collected the following owners parts;

Mo ..... 2 x boxes
Rich.... discs / pads / wiper blades
Luke .. A/C / plastic plugs / knob clip  / 1 x chassis bar
SS .... rear ARB

I have some time Sunday morning if people want to meet. Mo, Rich, I can be around the Dartford area, north or south to deliver parts if this works for you?

Luke, call me after you exam and we'll meet near you

Kare, I'll hold onto the arb till we meet up.

I bumped into Gary while at Matts place, good to meet you and look forward to seeing your finished project!!

PeteM and FB, your parts are waiting for you.

AMO, there will be a part for me coming over with your Oct shipment, please let me know when its here, hopefully you can pop in the post for me.

Thanx all, and as before, thanx to Mark for organising all parts

I'd just like to say a big thanks to Paul & Matt for organising & receiving the BB items......It was good to meet you on Thurs. Paul after having spend a good couple of hours on the phone yapping about NSX's, sorry all my fault, always yapping away....

Hopefully we'll all meet up again at a later date, I was in such a rush as I had to get back for work that night so apologies if I seemed like I was there to just "grab & go"

Paul, did you get a reply from Mark yet about your missing items?

I have emailed him twice now about mine but had no reply. Seems a little strange as I always had near instantaneous responses in the run up to buying....

Hi Paul -

OK, that means I'll see them Thursday afternoon.
Then we can get a revised quote for the shipping to Amo.
Then I can send him a request for the $
if all goes well with that we can ship everything 12/8

you might post that in the thread, shipping time via Bax is ~5 days, then Customs will fondle it for a bit.

All,

So Amo and Ary have started actions to recover their ££ and who can blame them.

Luke and Simon, your call but suggest you do the same.

As for me, I'll just keep the pictures of my rims and wonder just how good they might have looked.

Its such a shame that Mark has gone AWOL on us after the previous 2 GB's went so smoothly.

We did try to keep this on-track as Matt was interested in a new cover so tried to add this to the order with a view to getting all the parts shipped but even the offer of new business has not had a reaction. Thanx for your help Matt.

I have posted on Prime (see above) to enquire if anyone knows if Mark is currently away from the business due to illness or holidays (longshot I know) but it could be the reason as usually Mark is very good to respond.

Feeling let down by someone I thought we all had a good business relationship with.

If anyone else has any ideas I'll open to suggestions although I dont have time to fly out and collect myself, tempting as it is.

If anyone else has any ideas I'll open to suggestions although I dont have time to fly out and collect myself, tempting as it is.

regards, Paul

Paul,

I should have known better as I already had issues with him before but they were solved. I had no choice as the time was getting to 45 days and after that Paypal won't do bugger all, not that they do much anyways, as I learned when Scorp965 sent me the POS lights.

So far it seems that SOS are the only ones left who seem to deliver the goods in a somewhat timely manner.

We need some decent NSX parts vendors in the UK. ( No offense to Detlef or Dirk, but shipping sometimes gets in the way of savings )

Cheers,

AR

Can I just through my tupence worth in?

The only issues I had with Dali was when I ordered my carbon console and nav pod. This seemed to take an age but Mark blames his CF guy.
When he finally got them, there were with me in 4 days, I have since then ordered door fix it thingies on 2 different ocasions, and again from order they were in my hand in 4 days (the last one I received was 2 days ago).

I really don't know what the problem is with him? some people have had good responses, some really bad!

If I get a response (have emailed him about door handle) I will ask what is hapening.

I had some email correspondence from Mark in mid December which included a quote for some brakes, thats only about 4 weeks back. Have you tried calling him yet?

Really feel for you guys, it appears Paul and Luke will be the uninsured losers here which is harsh especially as they have organized successful gb's for us in the past. Maybe he'll come good for them though...:(

It does not look very good either for those of us who did not use a credit card for the purchase through Paypal.

Hi, everyone.

Sorry to hear your problem and it's a shame as most of the parts from US are at very competitive price even for the Honda genuine parts.

I always order the parts for my NSX and MX-5 from Japan and if they were in stock, it will be here within a week as I normally use EMS. Just one thing about the stock of genuine Honda NSX parts in Japan. Some of the parts especially the electronics related items and brake service parts are quite often out of stock or even discontinued.

If it was last year when the Starling Pound was still strong, I was looking into some business plan to purchase some parts for small number of NSX owners in UK but with the current strong Japanese Yen against UK pound, it will be quite difficult to compete with the price from US. Still, I hope I can help at least some of you in the future.

Regards,
Kaz

HI All,

Since my last post I have not had any more emails from Mark at Dali (although I do find this all a bit strange with me geting a part from him last week at short notice).

Anyway I have sent an enquiry to SoS for a few parts ( YES the billet door handles and a couple of other bits).

So I will see what response I get, and see what their service is like.

I tried Dali last in the with a few non urgent parts to "test the water" so to speak, as some poeple praised his service where others complained that they were ripped off. All I can say is that I have always had the few parts that I have ordered from Dali in a resonable time, or at least with good correspondance from him.

I really don't know what has happened with this group buy though. The mind boggles!.

Will keep you posted with the SoS info.

Jim

Sorry Ary, assumed you'd be OK through Paypal! It gets worse...

Sorry to hear that but actually I'm not surprised regarding how DALI acted in the past years.
My deal went south by the end of 2007. I had two test deals with him earlier and the good were delivered very fast (the quality of his CF parts is very doubtful though). He didn't reply for 10 days or so. I tested him by instructing a friend trying to buy something from him. And yes, he had a reply immediately. That's when I pulled the trigger on the PayPal claim. I got my money back but due to the currency exchange rate lost around $100.

I've learned my lesson and don't deal with people like this. It's not worth the joy, the waiting time, the uncertainty, the frustration and the relief in the end. I rather pay more but get 100% quality and better service.

Forget about the parts and put a claim on PayPal and hope you get your money back. :) I hope it works out for you guys.

BTW he must have more than a handful of claims at PayPal but still has his account.
