Fender fit (wings in UK speak) can vary quite considerably so you should be measuring from the ground (a nice flat floor) to the base of the car or actually suspension points in the case of the NSX.

The spec and how to do it can be found at the following link...

Hi Andrea,

The measurement you're after is exactly related to the one from the floor, however it won't be as accurate. You can measure the way you want, and it might give you the "correct" look, but it may result in poor corner weights and not ideal handling.

The completely correct procedure, assuming the suspension geometry is correct is...
Adjust tyre pressures to correct levels.
Place car on completely flat surface and add weight equivelent to the driver in the drivers seat (ideally put the car on scales).
Measure distance from floor to suspension datum points (the centre of the control arms bolts).
Adjust to correct height.
If on scales, adjust perches (therefore height) to achieve correct weights on each corner.

The last part may effect the geometry so you have to be methodical, correct this and reset the heights again.

You're looking to achieve the same figure on each side of each axle. It's fiddly because each corner effects it's diagonal opposite. Obviously the total weight can't change but you effect where the centre is. Think of trying to balance a wobbly 4 legged table by adding coins to each corner and you'll get the idea :)

The thread (on Prime) at the link below gives some floor to fender/wing measurements that might help you...
