Sorry about all these questions.....

I am looking to buy some new alloys but i am unsure to what size I can buy them and also what sizes? I went to wheelmania who seemed to be sure they should be 17" all round at 17x7.0 with 205/40/17 tyres...is this correct?

I have seen on Science of Speed.....(recommended by user from here thanks :) )

they show 17x7.0 for the front with 215/40/17 and the rear 18x9.5 with 255/35/18.

Also what tyres are the most suitable...I think Yokohamas may not last very long...

Thanks again for the advice :)

Cheers,

Andy

Wheel sizes are correct, but I would given the choice go for a wheel that takes a 225 width front tyre not 215. You will then get a lot more choice in tyres.

Have a look in the technical section for the sticky post about tyres.

It all depends what you want, however wheelmania are wrong.
Tyres are least need to be staggered front to rear to keep the ABS/TCS happy.

15/16 original 1991-1994 fitment
16/17 original 1994-2002 fitment
17/17 original 2002-2005 fitment

All came with different tyres front to rear and the difference in rolling circumference is around 7% from memory.

If it were me, I would go for some 17/17 that replicate the OEM sizes (in both wheel width and offset) if you can get them, that way the car should be happier.
Then you will be all set for a brake upgrade to bigger discs.

Thanks for your replies.....

So for an NA2 17/17 can fit on a NA1? would you happen to know the wheel width and offset?

Sorry for sounding stupid.
