Hi all,

could members of the forum point me in the right direction for competitive NSX insurance please?

Are there classic car policies/agreed value policies available? My car is a 96 model so may qualify for the 10 years classic status previous cars I've have owned. Failing that, are there any NSXCB schemes through approved insurers.

Many Thanks,

G

Hi G,

You could try RH Specialist Insurance Division, they insure 10yrs + as classics and are very good for me. I believe they are under written by Equity Redstar.

Not sure of a website but they are very helpfull over the phone.

Tel 01277 206912

Hope that helps

Pete.

AON private clients offer a classic policy,with agreed value underwritten by Royal@Sun Alliance.My '96 "T" costs £540 fully comp/£250 excess/named spouse/business use by both/6,000 miles pa.
The policy requires you to confirm the car is NOT an everyday driver and you have another vehicle for daily use.It is allso worth noting these policy's do not require NCB and you do not build any NCB within the policy.

Thanks for your advice guys, found it quite interesting......

I am 39, clean licence one claim for vandalism(away from home) 2 1/2 years ago with plenty of experience of quick/powerful cars....

RH Specialist Insurance couldn't quote me a price?!??

AON gave me a price after simply saying it was an NSX and I had one claim! It was £1060 going up to £1120 after me pushing them to give me a serious quote!!

Competion Car Insurance/Sports Car Policy (which I saw mentioned in another thread from Senniha??). The lady there, Tracey, was so helpful.......

Started of at £517.72 with a £500 excess. This cover includes 4 trackdays. I told her I wouldn't require trackday cover ( I get my track kicks on motorbikes) so it went down to £468 with a £300 excess. Discussed if it could be cheaper with a higher Excess and she came back with £445.98 on £350. These quotes were based on driveway cover. Then asked on garaging it (I can do it but it would need to be done religiously between 10pm & 6am at home) and she came back with £386.65. Now this is very good but the enforced garaging could be a pain so I asked if there was anyway we could agree on some middle ground between the £445.98 and £386.65 with driveway cover? Total result, she then comes back with £410.60!!

So that's a 96 car valued at £24k, 5Kmiles annual limit, £350 excess, driveway parked, protected NCB(9 years), 30 day Euro travel and legal cover all for £410.60!! I think I got a good result here??

If anyone is perplexed by other companies quotes then(now say this really quickly) call Tracey, she's very friendly 0115 941 6146, that's Tracey on 0115 941 6146......call Tracey today 0115 941 6146, that's Tracey at Competition Car Insurance 0115 941 6146 you'll be glad you did!!!!!!!

Sorry, just come back from the states where they repeat and repeat and repeat all the add numbers until it does your head in!!!! :-))

Cheers,

GH

Guest or GH, thats a mega quote! Wished I knew earlier as just renewed mine on Sunday! :( but my car not 10 year old yet? Is the company specialisng in cars over 10 years old and also is your post code quite safe? Since I'm in Manchester, very nice area, but still generally high risk! :(
