Hi Luke,

I had a look at some import sites today. I like the idea of that yellow coupe with the Gruppe M SC. However, a lot of the normal NSX''s seem pretty expensive, even compared to UK cars.

Cheers,

James.

A decent NA1-R is still north of 8,000,000 JPY at the moment.. That's £40k before you even think about shipping, duty, VAT, UK conversion costs.. No change from £54k im afraid :eek:

The 3rd Type S in Silverstone would be very tempting if the seats were black and not blue!

Hmmmm....I just don't seem to get the NSX-R desire over the plain old NSX.....and I still like the NA-1 over the NA-2.....I must be odd or something?

NA2 3.2 Targa with pop-ups possibly the best all rounder for the UK :) Now if only I could find / afford a set of black Type S seats and alcantara retrim ....perfection

Be careful about looking at cars just on the internet - I looked at several NA1-R's last year in Japan (through our guy) and they were spot on..

A few of the examples floating around at dealerships were worse for wear - seats worn, fag burns in carpets etc.. One was 3 different shades of white - the low quality pics used on Japanese websites hide a lot of this

RE the Silver NA1-R - that ended up going for a lot of JPY. It only had 17k KM on the clock since new!

Now now Paul... pointing things like taht out is not playing nicely;)

As much as a later car would be great I'd prefer a pop up 3.2 Targa in red... really I just need to take a hack saw to mine and it'd be perfect!

If I was going to import it would have to be an S or an R to be worth it... saying that it really doesn;t take much to convert a 3.2 to an S if you believe the engines are the same.

Keep teasing though!

Cheers,

Luke

I think that black one has been for sale for a while.

On another note, I was away for a while on business plus ended up buying a few motors at the same time lol!! anyway from chatting to some people that are big in the Import Trade, there is talk about the SVA changing next year and Model Reports being abolished, on top of that, the Russian market is in decline and if that goes into a down turn or recession then it would lower the value of cars in Japan as the Russian market takes around 60% of vehicle exported from Japan. If all those thing come into play then it maybe possible to import the NSX-R and S and reasonable money. So could be worth keeping an eye on.

A 1997/8 NSX-S doesn't need an SVA ;)

Yeah 1997 and all 1998 cars will be fine by the end of this year which is good news. Although if my above post about the SVA/Model report came into play it would mean you could bring in later facelifted models with alot less hassle, although at the moment the Yen is quite strong.
