I have been doing a few new mods to my car and having a good nosey at the same time!!
Anyway I was removing the electric antenna and taking out the half way button which is only on JDM cars as I'm putting in a new hidden antenna and looking at a new double din TV type head unit, I noticed while stripping out the boot that there was a cable very similar to the CD changer cable hidded behind the boot lining and wondered what it could be for? I also noticed on the back of my original head unit that there are 2 antenna cables going into it?? is this normal? I unplugged one of the antennas and it didnt affect the radio reception!?

Heres a few pics of the CD type cable:

IN THIS PIC THE TWO GREY PADDED CABLES ARE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT

I recall reading somewhere that (not sure if it is all cars, or just some) have a curious twin anntena set up - the obvious one being the electric uppy-downy one, the other being hidden either in the rear screen or rear bulkhead - I dont remember which!

Just seen a small print on the the bottom of my head unit which shows the 2 antennas and it says the one is the "antenna lead" the other is the "antenna receptacle."

Yep all NSX's have 2 aerials, the 'leccy mast one in the rear wing and another in the rear screen. The cables have differant plugs, one male one female. Both should be connected for best reception but it is entirely possible that removing either while stationery will not seem to effect reception.

All NSX's have the the CD changer cable installed as well even if the CD changer itself wasn't ordered from new. You can just plug in a NSX specific CD changer or use an Alpine with a pin change cable/convertor.

Mark my car has the original CD changer which I'm going to remove, but what I was wondering is, what the other cable was for that looks like the cd cable? Could it be for the NAV system that's seen on the JDM cars?

The above would be my guess as well.
