Have any of you guys changed your original steering wheel to something else? I was thinking of upgrading mine but not totally sure yet on what to do. I was thinking of going for either the Zanardi one with red stitching or possibly an after market one like the Momo Millenium but wondered if there is a boss kit to fit the NSX. Here are pics of the 2 mentioned:

Sudesh,

Try contacting Erick (evo575) on Prime ... he probably supplies and install more after market steering wheels than anyone else for the NSX.

Q: what car is that the Momo Italy for? Nice looking wheel IMO

Hi. Yeah I think I read quite a few of his posts on prime! The Momo wheel in the pic is NOT vehicle specific, it called the "Momo Millenium Evo" You should be able to get it from any good car accessories company. Here is one: http://www.momoshop.co.uk/ I've seen a few on ebay also.
Its a very similar wheel to the Ferrari 360 wheel. I quite like it myself but would like to find out more on; if there is a nice boss to fit the NSX.

Will this work for you?

I have the OEM wheel with red stitching and I must say it is one of those nice little touches.
However I would get a removable steering wheel at a drop of hat if it wasn't for the bloody insurance, as I'm sure the insurance company would class it as a mod!
IMO removable steering wheels are the best anti-theft device you can have.

....but if you get the Momo Tuner (aka the NSX-R wheel), can't you pass it off for a factory option? :)

I must have a closer look at the wheel next time ... I'm guessing it is part of the red trim option? Would like that detail on mine.

I would like a more modern wheel but only if I could retain the airbag and cruise functions, so most liely to stay OEM for me.

Not being boring, but the Momo looks too bling, ie too much alloy look!

Quite like the Acura Zanardi wheel, especially the perforated leather, but not sure about the red stiching? Would suit a red car tho.

Me prefer good ole oem!

I have a Momo Tuner mounted on the Momo "style" hub in combination with the quick release hub both from Dali. See pic

I did have a Momo Tuner with red stitching but I didn't think it suited the orange interior of my car. Would look great on Red or Black cars though.

I can't say the quick release has ever proved useful (removing it makes it pretty difficult for a thief to drive away) but I like it :)

IMHO you will actually notice a differance in steering feel compared to the airbag wheel. Probably down to the reduced diameter, 350mm vs 367mm, rather than any weight saved but it does sharpen the steering a smidge.

Any interior pics showing the wheel and what its like with the black interior? I'm swaying more to keeping it OEM as I too like the Airbag and Crusie control.

Sorry Sudesh, but I prefer Mark C's Momo to the Momo you're thinking about! Its simpler and more of a classic steering wheel looking!

Yeah I like that one too, its basically the Type-R wheel, although marks is the one with the silver spokes.

Looks nice, especially as retaining the original wheel, with horns & cruise control buttons. I notice on the site they also do the interior CF bits, but not sure about the quality of the weave tho?

Well I purchased a MOMO TUNER 320mm with black spoke, now I'm looking for just a simple BOSS adapter, so I can retain the Horn, not bothered about Cruise Control, never use it anyway and I can re-position it anyway to the ashtray if needed.
Momo dont seem to list an adapter for the NSX?

Sudesh, here's how it's done (the horn)... http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65255&highlight=horn+momo

Did you mean 320mm? That's the very small version of the Momo Tuner, it looks much smaller in the car when fitted and the steering's going to be pretty darn heavy with that one as well!

The alternative is the 350mm version as was fitted to the original NSX-R. This is the version I have and just for the record the spokes are gunmetal rather than silver. The picture doesn't do it justice but it matches my knob (gear) perfectly :)

Cheers

This is something else I have been pondering for a while and I DO like the momo evo style, mainly because I think it would be easily adapted to fit the cruise control buttons onto it.

I am glad you listened and did not go with any of those funky steering wheels.

The Momo tuner is a great wheel and a classy classic design!

Have fun with the instal and remember to put the yellow plug in the SRS
connector! PS Just in case disconnect the battery and wait 5 to 10 minutes befor messing about with the SRS.

I can highly recommend a Taitec or others billet Hub.

Cheers,

Yeah your right AR, its a nice simple and classic wheel, thanks for the tips on the Airbag also! I found this hub/boss for sale at Dali and and I'm wondering is this all I need? Its basically what I'm after.
