After I got my car back from Chiswick I noticed that the speakers had stopped working - stereo ok but absolutley no sound. turns out I had blown the Speaker Amp fuse. Changed it and noticed that the N/S speaker still not working. Went to the front of the car, leavig the stereo running, to put the fuse cover on, close the lid etc. got chatting to a neighbour, next thing I know very strong burning smell and thick black smoke pouring out of the N/S speaker. I guess that's why the original fuse blew then . Oh well - Only the Vtec to listen to know then :D

I don't use my ICE very often but for the long trip I've got planned this weekend I am going to resort to headphones for my SatNav-cum-mp3 player.

Sorry to hear about your speaker Steve but be careful.
I think you will find headphones are illegal if you get spotted by Mr Plod.

I would think that headphones are dangerous too as you won't have the periphery hearing you do normally I would think! Still 1,000 miles in silence bar the V6 might prove too much for anyone... :(
