Maybe I'm daft... but why can't I find a topic on the yet to be released 2008/2009 V10 NSX.... I found some concept pics.. but couldn't figure out if the official car design has been released.

About a month after Acura officially announced the end of its much-beloved current generation NSX, more information is becoming available on its replacement due in 2008. According to AutoWeek (http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=102981), in addition to a V10 engine, Acura also intends on giving the next-gen NSX its SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) that debuted on the new RL. It is possible the upcoming NSX will be based on the HSC concept (shown) that Acura unveiled in 2004, which featured an aluminum and carbon fiber shell, mid-mounted engine, and the super-car-mandatory F1 style paddle shifters. The new NSX definitely has some big shoes to fill, as the out-going NSX is one of the coolest super cars ever built. We can't wait.

Things have been discussed, not sure where the threads are.

However knowing how the NSX rumour mill has run over the last 4 years or so we don't take much notice of it.

The biggest shame in my mind is that the HSC (on your link) was never made, personally I would have had my order in with Honda if they were to produce it.

The S2000 mule has also been discussed on here, as has the ASCC and the Lambo'esque copy.

The Lamboesque one is actually rumoured to be a photoshop modified Cadillac Cien . Shame because it looks fabulous especially in white with the roof scoop (very type R), and much better than the ASCC.

Chances of being built however approx 0% as Honda seem intent on building a front engined GT along the lines of the Aston V8 and Lexus LF-A. I'm sure it will be great, but it won't be the new NSX.

Honda have gone eco loopy, so their still racking their brains how to make a hybrid supercar do ninety miles per gallon:think:

I prefer the description, Honda S5000, since there's no way the front-engined GT could realistically replace the NSX.

There will be a show car at Tokyo, but there's rumours that Honda has torn that one up too!

The HSC would have made a nice car, but as a re-body, it was sort of last year's model +10%, which after 15 years, would not really have been the class-leading flagship (or flashpig!) that Acura (ugh!) needs.

I know Honda are being indecisive about the next NSX, let just hope that in the face of ever more competition from manufacturers such as Lexus with the V10, aswell as the usual suspects from from Germany/Italy it will be a cracker, as innovative as possible, has some eco credentials since thats Honda trade mark and has a real impact on the world car press as it did 16/17 years ago! Just about every car maker in the world have great concept ideas and are jumping onto the eco bad wagon, but if the wait worth it in the face of stiff competition, then I don't mind! COME ON HONDA ! Thats my rant or 2p :D
