I downloaded this old Best Motoring video waaaay back when, but haven't been able to (re)find it via Youtube or Google video so uploaded it myself.

Wish I knew what they were saying!

Enjoy.... :)

Very close, I think from that video you can see the S is superior in power, R superior on handling.
Power just wins it on that track.

More to do with the driver, Mr Kurosawa allways beats the kids:D
Both cars looked at home on the track though.

No question Gan San is very, very good but he also has more of a "drive it like you stole it" attitude than most of the others. You can often hear the other drivers calling him a "nutter" (or words to that effect) in Japanese when he does one of his do or die moves :)

I wonder if he's ever had a prang in one of the Best Motoring Battles? I've not seen one yet.

So do you think the others drive to avoid his agressive style which slows them down?. Their allways entertaining though:),I wish they showed the program over here.

Aren't the diffences between the two cars very small? As people have said, Gan San takes it a bit more seriously than the others.

As far as I'm aware the S Zero has the same suspension settings as the NA1 NSX-R so handling should be pretty much identical. The NA2 NSX-R is even firmer/harder.

The S Zero carries the same 4.062:1 diff ratio as the standard 6spd 'box so it has taller gearing in the lower 3 gears than the NA1 NSX-R but shorter 4 and 5th gears... and of course a 6th one.

Assuming the S/S Zero never got the "special tune" engine of the R's, as some claim it did, the only other thing missing is the shorter 4.235:1 diff ratio.

Here are another couple of vid's that compare the NA1 & NA2 NSX-R's, and probably confirm the S Zero as the NA1.5 NSX-R in all but name....

Nothing conclusive, but makes me think hard about fitting a 4.235:1 diff to my car anyway :)

Cheers
