Would be a bit pointless really if they don't allow modified cars, considering some 'bog standard' TVRs get to 100mph in 8 secs.

There is an Enzo in my local Ferrai dealership, do you think they do 24 hour test drives? :D

Looking at the list I would put my money on either....

Ultima Can-Am 6600cc 600bhp
MercedesSL600 Biturbo 5.5lite 500+bhp

Having seen the Merc run last year at VMax pre further mods, I would be inclined to back that.

Si, I would back the Ultima if its the one that broke the 0 to 100 & 100 to 0 record? Not bad for a glorified, but well put together & expensive kit car! :D

http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/records/part1.html

If you look at part 4, the NA2 NSX R is there for comparison!

Part 6 shows its quicker than the Bug !!

Wonder if the Caparo T1 fancies an outing ??
That's supposed to beat the Ultima ;)

The T1 that snapped it's front left wishbone on its the launch as per EVO mag last month, it would be amazing to see the final finished product! Feast your eyes on this below !!

Oh my God is all I can say, at 180mph it's absolutely stuck to the road.

Simon, those photos look like they were taken in a warmer country than ours. Do tell more.

Simon, I'm truly jealous! :( After seeing JC on TG, 180mph is mighty in the straights, but what is it like in corners thats the real question? :)

Corners ??

They're the things where you need to turn the wheel and experience huge G's ??
It was absolutely steady as a rock cornering at speeds of over 100mph where the Lotus Elise familarisation cars were struggling at 50mph. Of course you are talking about a car with positive downforce running on full slicks against the Elise running little downforce with semi slicks.

This is the track, the Caparo did not struggle one bit.

Corners! What are they!! :laugh::laugh:

Sorry Simon, but on TG, JC says he could'nt get it quick enough for the aerodynamics to become effective enough thats all? Maybe Bedford was'nt the right track or conditions were too cold/damp? Maybe the disc brakes (CF) were not hot enough to be effective? Or simply JC is not a good enough driver!

Having said that it is an amazing piece of motoring engineering.

Brakes are conventional bell housed steel, carbon might be available in the future as an option.

The zero downforce at 30mph is rubbish as it's not needed, the cars little weight is enough, at 100mph I think 800kgs of downforce is produced. The car can theoretically drive upside down.
