I've been in contact with a Japanese exporter in the hope of getting some the Bridgestone RE55S tyres.

http://www.bridgestone.co.jp/tire/potenza_re55s/index.html

They are availble in the correct sizes for the 16/17" wheel and the 17/17" wheels. People that can get them (in Australia) are saying they are the best tyres around at moment.

Also, I have an offer from one of the members here to use his commercial premisies as a delivery point.

I have received one quote for the tyres in Japan;

215/40/17 -- £129
255/40/17 -- £154

This is quite a bit less than most track tyres in the UK. Obviously there'll be VAT and shipping on top, but I suppose the more there are in the purchase the better the shipping costs. I've never done this before, so mabe one of you have more info on this.

If there is enough interest in doing a group buy, I'll look more into it, and we can try it.

Kevin, are these strictly for track use? If used on the roads, do you have to be more careful are they are semi slicks? I read on another thread that the DOT have not sanction these, so are technically illegal in the UK? :D
