Well with the arrival of this today, the NSX has been demoted, this has 15bhp more than the NSX on paper and an extra 300cc.

The 'next' NSX had better be a good one, as this one is making the last NSX look a little weak .

It's nice, but certainly no NSX, if the future is to be built on this chassis then I think we won't be buying it.

Simon,

On a serious note, whats the Legend like to live with, is it a long termer\for you?

Well I've just taken in to Asda, all I can say is that it is big.
Been playing with the toys in the car and there are a fair few of them, but most need a motorway to test them out on, intelligent cruise control, early lane departure etc etc.

No, not a long termer, well I don't think so at the moment.
Need to drive it to London on Wednesday and then we'll see.

I read the article and it sounds superb, but it also sounds way too complicated. let us know how you get along with it, as like you say it is the future.

Cheers,

Is your bro a Honda main dealer or *** importer by any chance?

OK after having the car for long enough, my verdict.

It handles well, the toys are very useful on the motorway, the sat nav is better than my aftermarket one and the car is not too thirsty.

However, against the rest of the market, the price and the terrible resale value that Legends have also suffered I would not recommend one.

Also, when you do floor it, you wonder where some of the nearly 300 horses have gone.
Yes it is heavy, but not that heavy, I would expect a bit more performance.

As for HangBangle, no I have no direct or indirect involvement with Honda or importers.

It's believed the New Acura flagship will switch to a front-mid layout, like the Skyline (or the OLD Leg End).

The Legend (Or RL) has seriously bombed in the States, since it's basically what it looks like; a stretched Accord.

Personally, I quite like the discretion of the car, compered the 'trying too hard to be impressive'-ness of its German rivals, but I'm not likely to buy one anyway.

General feeling in the US seems to be that Acura has totally lost the plot.

If you're looking for performance in a far eastern luxo barge, check out the Lexus GS450h - I had one for 24h on test and it was a hoot. Pootling about car parks in silence on the battery was one thing, but stamping the throttle mid roundabout brough such a slug of torque from the electric motor, that (even with Traction ctrl on), we had it sideways and tyre shredding!

Only downside to the Lexus (apart from it being expensive and yet not managing to feel that expensive inside... it was nice, but not nearly-£50k nice) was the tiny boot - all those Duracells basically eat half the space behind the rear seats.

So I went German instead and bought a 3.0 diesel A8 - loads of toys (maybe not quite up to the Legend, though it does have a TV and adaptive bi-xenon lights etc), 230bhp and 317lb/ft and it really shifts in-gear... So now my missus & me have the dilemma in the morning: do I waft to work and arrive serene and relaxed, or scream along the M4 in VTEC heaven :)

Very nice, love A8s (understated cars of the stars!) I always liked German cars in addition to Japanese. My galfriend had 225 TT, lovely iconic shape & one of the best interiors around (puts the Xs to shame). I tested the RX300 before the Hybrid came out, lovely car & fully loaded with all the options as standard, but went for similar German as it drives like a car & mark1 RX was'nt so nice, plus theres depreciation, but the mark2s have v.good residuals now. Great looker, but would'nt spend £45k on the RX450H, when getting just over 30MPG!! Think when its time to change, no more 4x4, gonna get diesel & an sporty estate for the family! Strange that it sounds like a milk float up to 30mph!! & would be great if the technology becomes more common, then price makes it more viable. Even F1 might be using this in the future!! :D

AND you have got to remeber the Top Gear test, London to Einburgh AND back on 1 tank of diesel.

.....................Some how I dont think I'll get from Edinburgh to Japfest and back on one 1 tank of petrol in the X??
