View Full Version : So who bought the ugly " type-R" wheels on Ebay?

I placed a bid just out of curiosity more than anything. The owner insists that they are NSX-R wheels.

I tried explaining to him that the NA1 NSX-R only came with two types of wheels. But since the NSX-R was shown on a picture from a brochure from a book, it must be true. The same car in the book has what looks like a spoon exhaust and an aftermarket air filter. Also on the description in the book it quotes the early wheels sizes.

IMO Anything larger than 17" wheels on an NSX will be a compromise, it seems Honda shares the same opinion.

Cheers,

AR

BTW just me being anal again, but there is no NSX type R, just the NSX-R.

I wonder if the person is a member here?

What still annoys me is the perpetuation of missinformation!

Those wheel might belong to a "type R" and come off an NSX-R, but they are not OEM!

I have still only ever seen those wheels on a picture.

I wonder if anyone has ever seen them on an NSX-R in the flesh.

Crikey!

A set of wheels (no matter how dubious) is somewhat out of keeping with their 'normal' ebay activity!!!!!!

Who are we to judge, but it is really out of their normal behavior!!!

Well if it is someone on here, I don't think they'll be shouting too loud now :)

HI All,

I have no idea what these wheels your are all talking about look like, but I still fancy changing the wheels I have (OEM 15" + 16") but the problam I have is finding a set that I like. I do fancy the new TSW ones in 17" all round (Black Ice) to which I have no doubt that Ary will chastise me about telling me something like they are the work of belzebub himself and to put those wheels on an NSX would be a crime against nature.........or words to that effect!!!.

cheers

It's shocking that we can look through people intimate purchases.....

All considered, I liked this item.

P.s, Thought I'd seen those wheels somewhere before, unfortunately the pic's have gone. I think the wheels are called Azev B's.

if you try hard enough you can find out what anyone has been bidding on, let-alone win!!

anyway, it shouldn't be too hard to spot the car, and driver if they go to Japfest!

PS electr0_n0uveau is the seller of most of those items!

If someone can fund an NSX by selling naughty nurse outfits the fair play to them!

Maybe we are in the wrong job... or maybe their fetish for rubber went a bit too far

I think that anyone that was thinking of wheels lost a great set when Simon sold the RP-01s for next to nothing.

Other than that the Kahn RS-V and RS-R are quite cheap, not forged, but they are nice wheels.

If I was in your shoes, I would go with:

They are smart wheels and very reasonably priced. Any ideas how much they weigh compared to the OEM Blades?

simonprelude
30-01-2007, 10:57 PM
They are nice :)

In fact I wouldn't mind them on mine.

The Work Emotion weights are...........

16*7 17
17*7 19
17*8 20
18*8.5 20.7

All weights in lbs

Standard NSX wheels

16*7 16.8 (NA2 fronts) ??
16*8 18.9 (NA1 rears) ??
17*8.5 20.9 (NA2 rears thought they were 17*8 ) ??
