Can anyone shed any light on my weird boot opening issue ?
A few days ago, the boot opening switch on the drivers door stopped activating the boot lid latch. This is/was first thing in the morning, when I walk past the car in the garage, I normally lean through the lowered drivers window, press the button and then load my work bags into the boot. Now, the button won't activate the latch, so I have to open on the key.
Now the strange part is, that when I get to work, some 25 mins later, the boot button will activate the boot latch and pop the lid....... It will also activate the latch for the rest of the day...... ?????
My only thoughts are something to do with ambient temperature, as it's obviously colder in the garage and at the moment, perhaps a degree or two warmer when I get to work. Or is it vibration due to the car having been driven ?? But I would suspect if this is the case, then it would be more random when it will or will not work.....
Hoping someone might give me a few pointers before stripping bits off the car.....
Thanks in advance.
