Next on the agenda....
as became apparent when i had the AC regassed, the alarm indicator led was getting harder to see in daylight.... is it armed, disarmed, laying in wait?? who knows, i have to get in the car and check the led indicator with a hand shielding it, invariably setting off the alarm when i enter to do so!!! so time to do something about it...
I could have replaced just the original led, but I still wouldn't be able to see the alarm status easily from a distance without getting close to the car, as the indicator is mounted in the centre console, between the seats..
Soooooo.... break out the 3D printer.....

Yes it could have been smoother, but i like the matt finish of the carbom fibre infused filament
i would post a pointless vid, but alas, the forum doesn't accept YouTube 'shorts' vids apparently!!! and i cant get youtube to make what it has decided is a 'shorts' into a normal vid without 'shorts' in the URL....
anyhoo.... routing the wiring from the door lock dibber to the interior was the hardest part, the wiring going thru the door jamb in a soft plastic sleeve, rather than the more modern convoluted tube! it was fiddly, but i got there in the end!

the red LEDs i got are soooo efficient at turning electricity into light! bearing in mind the alarm control already had a current limiting resistor to protect the original led (12v output, so probably about 1kohm to give approx 10mA supply) i ended up putting a 10kohm resistor in series with each of them to get them to calm down...
