Generally I would support the creative style of advertising adopted by Graham and his team, but on this occasion he has either taken artistic licence too far, or, his team are getting lazy and not doing their homework ...

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/honda/nsx/honda-nsx-targa-3-2-six-speed-manual/8338459 (https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/honda/nsx/honda-nsx-targa-3-2-six-speed-manual/8338459)

This add claims that this JDM import doubled the UK registrations for 1998 T-top’s (not forgetting that Targa is a Porsche model, not Honda) ... sadly, they seem to have over-looked two of the rarest T-Top cars, regardless of year or model ... both finished in Magnum Grey Pearl, both owned by Paul’s, both UKDM, both 1998 registered ... so whilst his examples werent a breeding pair, I present our breeding pair and would suggest that the 3.2 T-top, pre-facelift is the rarest of NSX outside of the limited S & R variants.

As for the car being advertised, I do think they JDM bumpers look so much cleaner ...

Both of the RHD NSX that Plans have for sale currently are described as "endangered" or "rare", and I suppose that they are in the grand scheme of things....
Lazy marketing? maybe, but another way of looking at it is Plans are consistent with the message that later cars are not numerous compared to others in this sector, especially in NA2 form.

I have accounted for 8 UK NA2 3.2 manual "targas" (Senninha is correct of course in that the term "Targa" is a registered Porsche trademark but seems nevertheless to be in general use), including my own - I had not realised that Papalazarou had 2 of them! I believe (?) that is all of them (UK only) since there were only ever 8 of them with 6 more facelift versions although I do stand to be corrected here. With the information here there are in fact four 1998 registered ones (Oneillg is the other), one 1999 (mine) and three for 2001.

Great info. Do you have a breakdown of NA2 Preface Targas by colour and year?

IIRC there was a list many moons ago with all the colour and model type info on here. Might be 10 or more years old now.

The attachment function seems to be having an off-day so this is what I have - UK non-JDM manual "Targas" from NA2 onward

Colours : Red 3; Orange 3; Purple 1; Silver 2; Black 1; Blue 2; Grey 2 making 14 in all. (Excuse my not using the correct colour terminology)

Of these :
1998; 4 (all members on here and you know who you are!) 1 Red, 2 Grey and 1 Purple
1999; 1 (my red one)
2001; 3 (1 orange owned by a member here) and 2 silver of unknown provenance. One was for sale at ludicrous prices a few months ago and the other I came across in Lancashire years ago when looking to buy and never heard of again.

I have refrained from adding license plate info and mileage most of which I have too but that makes 8 in all to which there are an additional 6 final series non pop-up about which I have no information other than the black one that was mentioned as being for sale on here a short while back. It is worth emphasising that there may be more autos but unfortunately the records do not distinguish autos from 1990 to 2005.

Obviously, this may not be 100% correct and I would be happy for anyone who knows better to correct the above.

I think you are missing one: I came across N111NSX at Donington in 2013, owned then by Rod Howell and then sold (I think) to Sonic and Taxi5. I recall Rod being a bit scared it might rain on the parade lap at Donington so left his roof on. Circuit Blue.

It might be an NA1 but I think it was 2001.

Sonics Circut blue was a NA2 coupe and a different car to Taxi5's as you are right, his is a 'T'.

Excellent. Thanks. That would appear to make 9 NA2 pop-ups and then 5 facelift ones if there were 14 in total.
