When your fuel filler jams

Hook the seat belt round the release lever to keep it raised.

Then use a plastic panel pry to open the flap.

Try lubricating the flap hinges and release spring every 15 years or so...

I wedged my phone under the fuel door release lever and managed to pry the door open with my fingers, good call with the seat belt. Just bent the spring out a little and been fine ever since.

My garage door opener kept pinging into the footwell, causing profanity.

Then I thought of the seat belt.

Bending the spring (must be mild steel - can one refer to it as a spring?) didn't seem to work as well as WD40 and lithium grease did on the hinges.
