That must be some battery charger!

You get that as standard issue with a BMW i8 or i series BM model, Roller or a Bentley.
And anyway I thought American made cars were always renowned for their fully loaded no options needed cars, so it looks like another game changer from Acura.👍

What are the standard seats if the options are full leather and Alcantara & leather?

I wonder who here would tick the "illuminated door step garnish" option??? (Comes as standard on some VW's)

The configurator is a well-designed way of getting the purchaser to spend more. I like the fact that you can personalise your car from the factory.

The standard seats are manual - those two options are for "power" seats. The standard seats are "milano" leather with alcantara inserts.
The full leather seat option is again a "power" seat, with a different type of leather - "semi-aniline".

The car cover is a bit steep - you could get one from specialised car covers in their elite+ material (which I'm guessing is the same as is offered here) for around 400, but it would be black not grey.

The car comes with car mats - the price(y) option is for leather-trimmed extra-deep, "88-oz" carpet mats with hand-cut swoosh and the same stitching as on the dashboard and aluminium nsx logo.

The battery charger appears to be a c-tek with an NSX logo for twice the price+ you would pay for the same thing in Halfords (without the NSX logo)

Full details of the options can be found on the nsx.acura.com configurator.

I'm guessing that those with the cash for the new car won't quibble on the cost of some of these options - the carbon stuff comes down to taste - too much can be overkill IMHO.

The illuminated door sill trim is one item too far for me - especially at that price!

Trust me the price is not the only concern, delivery is to be handled by just 1 UK dealership located in Hendon, they are also the only service centre. AA silver service is provided for transportation of your F'ing costly toy too and from them.
Lets hope little micky the trainee spanner wielder doesn't take a fancy to 'giving it a trash up the A1'

I think i'll be buying some of the 'dealer fit' accessories in the US and even with postage, customs duty and tax i'll be still quids in.
Not everyone who's buying 1 of these is minted, for some like me its a dream (oh and a nightmare) to have and too hold, I just hope the residuals don't crash.

Yesterday I went to Hedsor House to view the new NSX and then choose the specification of my car.

Firstly I must thank Honda (UK) for organising such a wonderful venue and thoroughly looking after us during our time with them. All the staff (bar one) were from Honda and answered all my questions and more. Plus the very special bottle of Champagne as a gift when we left was a very unexpected treat.

We were allowed to spend as much time as we wanted crawling all over the NSX and were even allowed to start it, just not allowed to drive it.

We then speced up my NSX with the various options. The base price for UK cars is now £137,950. This does include the Carbon Fibre roof as standard and the Interwoven Wheels, (these items are an extra on US cars). If you have one of the first cars you also have to have Carbon Ceramic discs (at £8,400). As the Carbon Fibre roof and Carbon Ceramic discs were going to be options I wanted anyway I’m not annoyed by this. The other options I have chosen are Metallic paint @ £800. Semi-Aniline Leather & Alcantara Power Heated Sport Seats (Red) @ £1,200 and the Technology Package @ £1,700. Giving a Total on the Road price of £150,050. I’m also one of the lucky few who will see their NSX this year.

I do understand this is a lot of money, the most I have ever paid for a new car is £42,647.49, so this is a BIG jump. However if you compare it to the competition (Honda used an Audi R8 V10 plus and a Posche 911 Turbo S as bench marks) plus you can also now put in the McLaren 570S, of which the list prices of these before any options are:-R8 £134,500, 911 £145,773, 570S £143,250. So against its competitors it’s more or less the same price. (The Cheapest Ferrari 488 is now £183,974).

And in case you are wondering (as I know more than one person is), the same spec car in the US would be $180,900 before TAX. Allow $1.4 to the £1 and you get £129,214 add tax (VAT at 20%) you get £155,057, so it’s cheaper to buy it in the UK.

To use a quote from The Prisoner “I’m not a number (R8-911-570S-488) I’m a free man!” so I bought an NSX!

I understand that McLaren also use this service by the AA. As I understand it your car will be transported by trailer so no one will drive it (only to get it on and off the trailer).

Cheaper to buy in the UK, especially with the US dealers inflating the ticket price too, as I've read on Prime. Makes a change!

Well done for not going too CF mad, NSX2000.
A Quick question - did they say why the Y wheel isn't available in the UK?
I understand that they are lighter than the interwoven design, plus they are (sort of) like the BBS wheels on my Type S.

Congrats NSX2000

agreed the CF ROOF is nice but unless you sprinkle other bits of it around its a bit OTT
i'm having the Extra cost paint so mines a bit more (most I've spent on a car is 42k so I guessing we both in the same boat)

Nice compliment about the Honda staff , I am sure they will appreciate it (all. 2 of them Owen and Raj) all the others were either Crown Honda or agency.

How long was your deposit placed?

I understand that they are lighter than the interwoven design, plus they are (sort of) like the BBS wheels on my Type S.

The reason they gave me, is that the design is very similar to another manufactures design who has a european patent on it, and Honda Europe decided it wasn't worth the arguement.

So when I go to the US in October I will see if I can get my hands on the Y style wheels. ;)

The 5 men I meet hanging around the car all wearing Honda Polo shirts (of which Raj was one) all new the car inside out, and what bits were going to be on a UK spec car and what bits were not on the UK spec car. So the most knowledgeable agency staff I've ever meet.

I put my deposit down in 2012.

I agree, Lindsay, martin and John are really good guys, they work for a company called KCS up near Northampton
I have known Lindsay for about 17 years having met him at a bike show and subsequently any event honda do he is there
MotoGP, BSB, BTCC etc

its a shame they didnt show us the car they have in storage. Blue, Right Hand drive and Honda badged but they want this to be used for the UK press release next month

I just read this and wondered how the Australian NSX model can be so much more expensive than the rest of the world???

Or is this publication referring to a new model soon to be released.🤔

"Robinson said the car accelerated quicker from a standstill to 100kph (62mph) than a Porsche 911 Turbo, which goes from 0 to 100kph in 3.0 seconds but he declined to give the NSX's exact time, saying only it was less than 3.0 seconds."

That is a big claim - the Turbo S is now down at 2.5 seconds, can't see the non-S being that much slower
