If you believe the PR, all of the UK's first batch of 100 are allocated to deposit-paying customers.

And if you believe the Honda bod I spoke to back then, there was to be a clause such that customers cannot sell the NSX2 until six months after purchasing. "To deter speculators."

I have had my £5000 deposit with the dealer now for over 3 years.
There are NO clauses pertaining to it.
Honda have 100 confirmed orders of which many are dealers, dealers did not have to front up the £5000 deposit but, they cannot sell the car for 6 months, there is a waiting list after the 100, should anyone drop out (as if eh).
I understand the UK allocation in the 1st 12 months is 25-30 cars so, unless you are well up the list you have no chance at all.
Yes there may be some profiteering but I guess it will be the dealers who are guilty of that.

Ford had a 'clause' in the contract when they sold the 28 GTs to UK owners in 2005, relating to don't sell for one year. They invited us up to some swanky bar in London and plied us with Champagne and asked us to stick to the agreement.

Martin Brundle put his up for sale the day he received it.

These things are not enforceable, except maybe to dealers and that is more about threat ('next month, you're going to get 15 lime green Jazz') than the wording of the contract.

My understanding is Honda UK have in fact 127 confirmed orders. They closed the order book back in 2015 because the people at the back of the list may not see their cars until 2018 now. Honda announced at this years (2016) Geneva auto show that European customers would start receiving their cars from this autumn (2016).

Talking to a well connected (Honda dealer) sales person it looks like only 10 may be 20 at most will see their car in 2016 and the rest in 2017 but even that is not guaranteed.

Sudesh you may have better luck trying Southern Ireland as they might have a different allocation.

You can only spec a new NSX in the US at the moment, apparntley here in the UK you will be able to spec your car from end of March begining of April.

Someone is selling their place on the list on eBay for £5000 ! I won't post the link as I'm not promoting this as a good thing.

I understand our allocation is about 100 cars per annum, so you can do the math.

Second biggest market after US, apparently. Presumably, RoI is lumped in with the rest of the EUDM. Which is a smaller market than the UK...

Says who? Are they expecting the Japanese themselves not to buy many?

The way I see that is that they are made in the USA, not in Japan, and they don't have a Japanese engine. Don't see many American cars in Japan.

I understand all that, but it would be remarkable if the Honda did not sell more NSXs in Japan than in the UK. The Japanese market is way bigger.

It will probably push some of the current used NSX price even higher in Japan and possibly some part of the world…

IIRC, one of the hundreds of articles/interviews about the launch.

Though they buy so many small hybrids, I believe the Japanese generally don't buy cars like the NSX.

It was the same with the S2000 in its later years.
