Dear all,

After a fantastic 2015 Tour, we have almost finished the planning for next year. We have done a survey a couple of days after the last tour (thank you all for participating!) and we have taken all your constructive criticism into account. The biggest ones were:

One hotel
Good/safe parking
Keep the good price/quality
More time at venues
Lunch/drinks included
Less highway

Bas and I have spent a lot of time searching for new venues and hotels. But with all the requirements in mind, we still ended up with our trusty hotel in Luxembourg. You won't believe how good photographers can catch a crappy hotel in person their a lot worse then on booking.com ;-).

This has lead us to the following provisional agenda:

Friday MAY 13
We will start the weekend with something that is very close to our passion: Go Karting! Many, if not all, racing legends have started their careers in these little racing machines. At the track we will start with a lunch. Then we will get ready to race, and not just race, it will be a team effort. In teams of 4, we will do a 2-hour endurance. Together with your team you will have to choose a strategy and keep focused. Obviously, there will be prizes to win.

After the race we will drive to the hotel and enjoy a nice drink and dinner.

Saturday MAY 14
As some of you might remember, two years ago we did (or I must say tried) a tour along the Mosel river. This edition we have set out a new route, with improved instructions being pre-loaded navigation systems provided by Rob at Ignition Online (http://www.ignitiononline.com) ! This will lead us to the famous Nurburgring via the set route, even Martin should be able not to get lost this time ;-), where we will have reserved a "special garage" to park all the cars and have lunch together.

After lunch, everyone is free to do and go where he/she likes. There will be a VLN race at the Ring, you can visit the Nurburgring Plaza but if you want to explore the amazing roads surrounding the Nordschleife you can do so.

At night we will meet everyone at the hotel where we will have dinner with the now famous NSX quiz, Prize ceremony and Charity Auction.

Sunday MAY 15
On Sunday we will one of our most favorite tracks: Spa-Francorchamps during the Spa Classic. And this will be an edition to remember! This year the red NSX that was owned by Ayrton Senna will join us on the paddock and even better, YOU will have a chance to drive it on track (you can read more about it on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/NSXClubEurope/?fref=ts)).

This year we will be at the race day, so we will have the opportunity to see the legendary Group C cars going against each other.

As usual you will have the chance to drive your own NSX at the track during one of the track sessions.

Arnaud Taquet - www.prestigesportcars.eu (http://www.prestigesportcars.eu)
Last year we had top photographer Dennis Noten with us. This time we will have the pleasure of welcoming Arnaud Taquet as our Tour Photographer. Arnaud has done commercial work for BMW, Lexus, McLaren Automotive, Alpina GmbH, Seat S.A, Audi France, Honda, Pagani Automobili, Hyundai Motors, VW Group, Mercedes-Benz and many more and has done photo-reports for Top Gear and Drive Magazine. On top of that he is a big fan of the NSX and was very close to purchasing one this year.

We are still working out most of the details and are trying our best to negotiate the best prices. Hopefully we can give you the final confirmation of the agenda and prices the first or second week of January. This is also when we will officially open the registrations.

For now, you can block your agenda on 13, 14 & 15 May

Bas/Dimer,

Am I correct that the package is for a 2 night stay (Friday & Saturday)? What time do things kick off on Friday, is it at the karting venue for lunch? Where is the karting venue, just trying to work out if I can get there in time (from the UK) after an early start or need to arrive the day before.

Cheers

Mark

Mark,

The Karting will start around 11:00 in the morning (lunch is included), it's in France at a "world cup track of PKL Lommerange" 45min from the Legere Hotel (both me and Dimer are staying there on thursday as well). We are speaking to the hotel on a similar rate for the Thursday night for the international visitors.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

Best regards Bas

Mark,

The Karting will start around 11:00 in the morning (lunch is included)...

It's 400miles and 6hrs 45mins (including the Chunnel), from Surrey, for me so I'd need to arrive on Thursday then, as I'd guess would most the the Brits coming.

Cheers

Just signed up for this years tour ;).

We will be staying in or around Reims again on the Thursday night.

If people were intrested I know a nice hotel that we could stay and eat at. We could do the old Reims Circuit first before going to the hotel. The karting track would then be a 90 minute drive in the morning.

It is the Hotel Mont Aime

Rooms are about 100 Euros but if I was booking a few rooms I'm sure we could get a discount plus we would also be eating dinner there. It has a private car park at the back of the hotel and even an indoor swimming pool!

I think it would be a nice option to take. The Legere is nice but this could just be our little UK team-tactics base before the big kart race ;). I've witnessed your top notch French Paul so you work the discount :) You up for this Simon, Steve, Clive and any other Brits I missed?

Think Kare means the crossing time.

I'll have the whole Thursday off myself so would propose something around a 1pm crossing to avoid the traffic both sides of the channel. Hopefully that will be good for people travelling from further up the country too.

I agree Steve on booking sooner than later. Might be a silly question but but first of all, are three nights included at the hotel for the standard "tour" e.g. Fri, Sat & Sun? I had assumed a return on Monday but I'm not sure. I couldn't find a definitive answer...

I propose the 12:50 outbound Thursday afternoon and 19:50 return Sunday. If there are people joining from farther afield on the Thursday we can look to adjust the outbound time to suit.

We can sort out meeting points closer to the date but would be a good idea to get the crossings booked soon as mentioned.

Steve, just fill out the drop boxes on the first page then after clicking on 'search & book', the second page shows the crossing times and three different types of ticket. Choose the crossing times for the 'short stay saver'.
If you have an abundance of Tesco Clubcard vouchers they can be exchanged for double their face value against the fare. You have to get in touch with Tesco to sort that out from memory though.

Hello all!

I have joined this tour with a passenger. but I've mentioned this trip to a friend of mine and he has shown very strong interest in joining, so I thought it would be nice if he could come along with any of the U.K. Owners who are not taking a passanger that wouldn't mind someone to tag along with them? We will obviously pay his way and so on, would anyone fancy doing this for my friend? Its a little cheeky I know, but cannot see the harm in asking?

Who are you insured with? If Classicline Insurance then there is cover included. Do you have an agreed value on your NSX-R? An alternative is Pride on here. He has an orange superhero costume with fake muscles and rescues the world as "RAC MAN"... Seriously ;) He covered as few of us last year.

The breathalyser is only about a quid on the ferry so should be about the same at the train departure shop if you want to be completely compliant. Flippin EU regulations :(

Clacketts to Eurotunnel is about an hour assuming no accidents, so 10.30 at Clacketts seems like a sensible plan all-round - 5/10mins to round everyone up, 1hr in the car, 30+mins for contingencies/traffic/etc...

Thoughts?

PS - please everyone be aware of the (fairly) new speed cameras about 2-3 miles either side of Clacketts Lane services - permanently live even at NSL.

A memorable trip in so many ways, much fun and laughter. The Tour is superbly organised by Baz and Dimer with perhaps the icing on the cake getting Honda to support the event with the attendance of the new NSX (one of only 5 currently in Europe) which led the convoy on its way to Spa.

My first time and hopefully not the last, highly recommended for those who haven't yet taken part.

I totally concur, a fantastic fun filled 4 days with like minded individuals, which must have taken a hell of a lot of planning, so very well done Baz and Dimmer, I'm so looking forward to next years festivities.

Main highlights for me, apart from some really great driving roads and beautiful scenery was winning the NSX "guru" etched plaque for the dinner table quiz.
2nd place in the karting endurance, (should have been first but for gods tears stopping play) and apologies again to Havoc for "out breaking" you at the end of the main straight :) but as Senna once famously said "If you no longer go for a gap that exsisists you no longer become a racing driver" not that I am of course, but I was simply just putting that theory to the test and he's right.😂
An unforgettable death defying charge around the Nurburgring as a passenger 😱 with fearless Joe 🏁 at the wheel of his wide bodied show stopping track weapon monster, so many thanks mate, I really enjoyed that. (video soon to follow, you'll love it) and a great 3 to 4 lap tussle with flysniffers NA2 at the Spa track session, better luck next year Rob.😎
Great also to be able to sit in and rev up the new NSX, so much better in the flesh I've got to say rather than behind security barriers and in pictures and boy can that thing shift, as we all found out on the Sunday mornings 50+ car cavalcade to Spa. Organised chaos but it worked.👍

Simply an epic weekend guys.
Cheers,

Great weekend. Best NSX event of the year. Bas, Dimer, Evelyn and Jeroen did an amazing job.
NSXCB didn't let the UK down with 1st & 2nd in the NSX Guru quiz, 2nd in the karting, NSX 'Best on Tour' award, NSX 'Best of Stock' award and I think I am right in saying we contributed around 2000 euros of the ~3000 euros raised for charity in the auction. Don't want to spoil one's enjoyment and not sure whether everyone had driver’s briefing prior to the track session or not but for someone who used to observe everything from the race control and covered so many laps on the same circuit, as havoc stated, never overtake on the corner and always overtake from the side agreed during the briefing. If you want to let someone overtake you, indicate your intention….

Lol lol, Maybe NZNick appreciates it as he's from down under :):)

I am currently down under (as far as you can go from the UK), but originally from where Hampshire/Surrey/Berkshire all meet (the Surrey bit).

I just spotted this on NSXprime for some strange reason and yet I had never seen it before so I thought it would be good for all those that went on this great trip from this forum to be able see this as well. Lot's of good driving memories.

It's an excellent combination of film editing and music mixing and best of all at 13.20 you'll see "King of the ring" Joe Osmondo doing his infamous chicane pirouette while I sat helpless as a passenger turning his Bride seat brown.:)

I even remember the single person behind the catch fence watching on who obviously must have filmed this, good catch.
