the acura press release is in here....

Now if only Acura/Honda could have made the price start from $150,000 we could have seen a dollar to pound starting price of just £100,000 in the uk.
Now that would have been a true world first for this technology at that price point but no doubt the starting price in the uk will be more like £150,000

No we couldn't; go and look at prices here and at a few few .com versions and generally cars cost the same in sterling as they do in bucks. It's partly PPP, partly taxes and a lot of Rip-off Britain. Why Acura is your spare-parts friend...

Thing is, the car had been rumoured (by those more in the know than the usual hacks) @ around $150K upwards. £200K with all the bling toot glued onto it doesn't sound at all out of step with what it's meant to be.

Probably the biggest issue is 'it's just a Honda, and a made in USA one'
so this poses the question, spend £150+ on one?
yes it will be rare
yes it will be full of technology (originally ahead of its time)

honda's F1 foray this year has been very interesting, would Jenson drive either in 2016 if he wasn't being paid too.

i'm in that quandary of hanging on for one of the 1st cars to arrive, maybe say f' it and go buy something proven, better 'super car drive (how heavy is the new NSX again)
McLaren 570s
Porsche Turbo S
Porsche GT3

were we really thinking the NSX would be in this car sector when we handed over our deposits

just look at our recent press release blurb from Honda UK for making us feel excited.

Just remember that the new NSX is only up against those 3 above on price, not technology - you have to look further up the respective ranges to the more comparable model - plus they aren't available any more P1, 918 La F etc. ...... and look at their price tags again ......

It is probably up against those three in terms of performance as well as price though, given that the other three you mention all have around 400hp extra. I doubt people will be buying for the technology as much as how it drives and what the performance is like.

Not true any more. Mercedes AMG GT uk price £97,200 (note this includes VAT at 20%) US price $129,900 (note this does not include any Tax as each state has a different tax rate. (In New york add 8.875% in Los Angeles it will range from 9% to 10%).

So actual cost in NY is $141,429. Using the current exchange rate of £1 to $1.49 the Mercedes will cost you £94,918 a saving of just £2k plus the steering wheel on the wrong side!

There's always an exception, which proves the rule: the CR-Vs etc work out roughly right given that the spec isn't exactly the same.

We'll see how brave/delusional HUK is shortly...

:D Or an unladen Transit...

Or only a bit overweight, compared to a 1,700Kg 918.

I'm not really sure how one judges these things, any more.

At least one could argue that you do get value for money in just weight alone.:D

If you fancy a real giggle then check out some of the optional extra prices just recently announced.

Just to put them into perspective, a £1,500,000 Bugatti Veyron optional floor mat set will set you back a mere €850 :)

Yup sure looks like it :)

Can't wait to see the HUK mark up price.

Honda UK salesmans opening pitch before offering them any options will now have to be, for health and safety reasons:
"I INSIST you first take a seat please sir" :D

The journo that wrote this article sure feels the way we do I think. Made me laugh anyway.

I wonder if Acura will send me a set of Press Floor Mats just to test them. I can pop them into my Beetle, nearly doubling the value, and write **** like:

“I’m a believer. There is no going back. The driving — no, let me correct myself — LIVING experience I had using these floor mats makes the birth of my son feel like a trip to the gas company to pay a bill.”

I know Acura is by no means alone in charging absurd prices for **** like floor mats, but I think it’s worth pointing out. Maybe I’m wrong; maybe these are fantastic floor mats, worth every goddamn penny.

I was happy to see that Acura is really doubling down on their ‘we have more headlights than anybody’ identity, and offering a $7500 Headlamp Expansion Package option:

New NSX is out of my budget but I truly hope the technology delivers as suggested by earlier animated YouTube releases as it will again be a game changer.

If I as in the price bracket my money would buy what I consider to be a successor to the NSX http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/motor-shows-geneva-motor-show/2016-mclaren-570gt-revealed?utm_medium=EMAIL&utm_campaign=Enews%20bulletins&utm_content=ACAR%20Enews%20Bulletin%20working%20Ex tra%20story%20subs%20(1)::link2_html&utm_source=20160225

I certainly hope their road cars perform better and are more reliable than their F1 cars!

I "only" managed to get the specification price up to a mere $205,489 or in other words £205,489!!!!

See what the highest price you can achieve because an article in "Buisness Insider" claims to have managed $214,489 but I can't see how.

Maybe he found some optional led's???

Today I placed an order for a UK spec Unicorn. The salesman couldnt tell me how much the final price will be or when I will get it but he did say it will arrive before any new NSX's arrive in the UK
