Ex 24 Hours of Daytona NSX-R GT2 for Sale.

It makes interesting reading in the comments section of this article, considering it cost over a $1,000,000 to build and yet I don't know if it was ever sold or not.

ANOTHER GLOWING REVIEW AND OPINION :

The 1991 Acura NSX and the 2012 Audi R8, two models which are separated by nearly two decades of design and technology. It would be like pitting today’s 48-year-old Micheal Jordan up against the 27-year-old Labron James, who are in fact also separated by 21 years. The comparison however isn’t just a numbers game, it’s about what each vehicle represents and how well it will stand the test of time.
“Following, in no particular order, are some things most NSXs never did: leak, stall, stink, burn, ventilate their crankcase, cook their clutch, experience catastrophic electrical failure, overheat or simply strand their driver. The NSX, for all its hype, sprang from a time when mixing some mundane Honda Accord into the supercar stew, rolling it up in an aluminum body and dropping it into a market ripe for a real driver’s car was a stupendously good idea. Good enough, in fact, to last for 15 years.
Next to Porsche’s ubiquitous 911, the NSX might just be the most practical, reliable real-world supercar ever built. But in 1990 there was something more exotic about a low-slung, midengine, aluminum-bodied supercar than there was about any Porsche. And there’s still truth in that statement today. Which is why we think Audi’s R8 might be the best spiritual successor the NSX could have.” – Josh Jacquot, Inside Line
The fact that this article even exists is more than enough for me to declare the NSX the winner, but then again I am a bit biased. There is one thing I’m sure we can all agree on – the next generation NSX has got some big shoes to fill.
If you’re an NSX fan you won’t want to miss this read.

Why wouldn't you get the puncture repaired, re gas the air con and sort out all the other easy fixes before selling?
It will be interesting to see if it gets any bids especially as the seller says it needs cosmetic bodywork and there is only one photo!
Trump connection, nah think I'll pass

Interesting measure where that pre ownership added value lies. Donald Trump's NSX not worth a penny more than the going rate. In fact minus the cost of decontamination and repairs.

I like to think of the NSX as the Hawker Hurricane of WWII era. Not the quickest, not the fanciest. But a rock solid gun platform that consistently out performed the glam aircraft in its reliability and kill ratio.

I find it interesting how we all think of our great NSX's.

I have always likened the NSX to a beautiful elegant gazelle, light and fleet of foot, very agile and supple yet very strong and sure footed.
Not the King of the jungle nor the brute strength of a raging bull or over powerful rhino, yet we Nsx owners always seem to make every other "predator" out there look on in awe, wonderment and total respect for what it is, an icon.

I wonder what other forum members think of their cars, apart that is, thinking I'm a nutter.:)

Our original NSX becomes an official classic this year reaching the grand old age of 25 as you all know and I just read this and lots more:

"It was said that the goal was not just wishful thinking at the time, it was actually considered impossible – at any price. There was no way in hell anyone could make a car lightweight, comfortable, ergonomic, quiet, loud, sporty, aggressive, and powerful all at the same time. Contemporary exotic cars – the Ferrari (http://www.autoblog.com/ferrari/) 328 & 348, Lotus Esprits (http://www.autoblog.com/lotus/esprit/), Porsche (http://www.autoblog.com/porsche/) 911s, and Chevrolet (http://www.autoblog.com/chevrolet/) Corvettes – all had huge compromises in various departments, and that's just the way a supercar had to be. These quirks were part of the so-called exotic car experience, and drivers & reviewers welcomed them because they couldn't imagine it being any other way. Plus, the idea of Honda making a supercar?"

How wrong they all were so I hope you all enjoy reading one of the best short editorials of our beloved cars for quiet a while:

The car in that article, what's going on with it's handbrake?!

I've commented in the past about seeing one like that before and was told some people prefer it adjusted like that which I thought was very odd at the time. 🤔

britlude
13-03-2017, 06:34 PM
it's usually a compromise, as to get the auto handbrake adjuster to work properly, you want the activation arm at the caliper end to be fully off, with the lever against it's endstop.

so some have the handbrake lever pulling up a bit further, rather than 'pre-loading' the activation arm to get the desired 3-4 clicks at the handbrake handle!

in days of yore, you just adjusted the handbrake, made sure the car still moved when it was off, and adjusted it til you could just get 4 clicks with 2 hands and a red face! auto adjust calipers changed that!
