I joined this forum when I had spent a fair amount of time looking for the right car to buy. I knew that if I was on the forum I would probably get the first sniff of a rare car coming up for sale. I am now returning the favour to anybody else who is looking. The car will be advertised on PH next week.

I think that this is probably the only Red NA2 pop-up car to come on the open market since the start of last year. I believe it is one of around six Red, NA2, Pop-up, manual, coupes in the country.
As one of the last NA2 pop-up cars it benefits from the updated interior and improved ABS as well as larger engine, improved brakes and six speed gearbox which are common with the facelift cars, whilst retaining the original pop-up headlamps. To me it is the best of both worlds, which is why I specifically wanted one and had to wait ages to find the right one.

So, on to the car spec and history:

NA2 pre-facelift, Original UK car.
3.2l 6 speed manual transmission.
Coupe.
Red with Black leather interior.
Chassis number last digits 000010
On its original registration plate
The car is visually completely original and in great condition. The only things which are not 100% original are the fitment of a GPS tracker and an ipod interface, and a rain guard in the engine bay.
The tracker enables you to locate the car and remotely disable it if required (assuming of course it has a mobile phone signal).

4 Previous owners, I bought the car early last year, it has lived in a garage for the vast majority of that time, and was garaged by the previous owner.

It has had all of the major jobs done on the car, top end engine, brake and coolant system overhaul, driveshaft overhaul, A/C and audio head unit service.

Here is some service history on the car.

Originally sold by Phoenix Honda on 25/03/2000

27/08/2010 30266 Lincoln Honda (Including brake fluid)
02/09/2011 32806 Norton Way Motors
31/07/2012 33518 Kaz
11/01/2013 34248 Kaz
01/08/2014 35667 Kaz

Here are the details of the work done by Kaz during the last three services.

31/07/2012
Crank pulley
Main relay
New brake master cylinder
Overhaul and powder coat all calipers
Cooling system...
Header tank
Thermostat
Coolant hoses
Coolant drain, refill and flush
Throttle butterfly cleaned
Both driveshafts stripped and rebuilt
A/C CCU board serviced
Clutch slave, master cylinder and hoses replaced
New Yokohama Advan Neova tyres fitted

11/01/2013
Stage 2 engine refresh

01/08/2014
Audio head unit service
Fitted USA SPEC IPOD adapter

Since the last service I have changed the sump as I documented on the forum as it was deformed (including an oil change)
I have also fitted new rear brake pads and a GPS tracker.
Just had new Bosch S4 battery fitted.
I have also just fitted a new A/C receiver/drier and low pressure valve and had the A/C checked and refilled by my local Honda dealer, this was due to a leaky low pressure valve which was identified by Kaz a the last service.

I have a pile of paperwork including most if not all old MOTs and various invoices to back up the history.

12 months MOT

The current mileage is just under 37k. I will be driving the car in Wales at the weekend, and taking it to the Silverstone Classic later in the month, the car will then be available. Mileage will be somewhere around 37600 at that point.

I believe the paint to be original, I checked it all over with a paint thickness gauge before I detailed the paintwork at the end of last year and it was pretty consistent, as such there are some stone chips around the front of the car, on the front bumper and front of the bonnet, there is also a very small section of corrosion on the bottom of the passenger door. I never know how much people want originality compared to having it resprayed.

Asking price £65k. Any questions please ask. Here are a few photos, any others on request.

I haven't taken any photos specifically for the advert yet, I will get some nice interior shots done soon. The car will be at Silverstone for the Silverstone Classic if anybody wants to take a look.

No I haven't. But then I have the Supercar Siege, tour around Wales, and Silverstone Classic to do in it. After that lot you can have it for £55k if you like....

I would say that it's a fair price for the model, year, mileage, and history. Comparing it to other cars for sale, maybe a bargain to the right person.

Not at all. Since I made that comment the only NA2 I know of to have sold recently came to market at £65k. It was a different colour but the same spec as mine, I hadn't appreciated myself where the current price point was. I feel the service history with the preventative work done over the last three years puts it a notch above cars which have just had servicing as and when required.
If this is the spec people want then it is the only one on the market, these are very rare cars as I found when I searched for months to find it.

I totally agree. I cannot believe how many threads over the years when I've been searching historical posts
question the value of the NSX and prices people have asked (and I'm talking about 2009 posts) and in this current market they stand out as being very special for the money I think (and not just because I've bought one) compared to many other classics which don't even come close to having the engineering, looks and rarity of a UK spec car.

Top car in tip-top condition - top (asking) price is justified IMHO.

GLWtS - hope it finds a new owner who will keep it in this condition.

Did this car sell?
I can't see it on Pistonheads any longer....

It is not yet sold. I have somebody interested in it but we aren't both in the country at the same time until mid-September. If it doesn't sell then I will put the advert back up.

Can I buy your garage...it looks fantastic!

Unfortunately it isn't my home garage, it is a garage at work where I can tinker with cars. My home garage is a more modest tandem affair.

Just in case anybody is interested, my car is still up for sale and I will be advertising it on PH in the near future. The asking price now also includes an £800 deposit for a service with Kaz (annual service and change O2 sensor) to be taken towards the summer. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
