Over the years we've seen many new threads on some very special NSX popping up for sale in Japan. But now he's bought a stunning Type-S he's forgotten about us (joking) ... so I thought I'd give him a prompt with thsi absolutely stunning example of the late, great NA2 NSX-R ... my perfect example of how it should look

This one has been at Route KS in Suzuka on and off for ages - my car was in the showroom at the same time (briefly).

I thought I had posted about it, but apparently not.....

More pics of the Type R here on the Route KS Blog (http://blog.livedoor.jp/route_ks2003/archives/52355995.html).

I would have bought it but don't like the carpet ....... being an Everton fan I couldn't cope with that amount of (Liverpool) red!!

I'm not into football but I'm slowly converting the carpet into (Liverpool) 02+ NSX-R red so you are not going to like my NSX.... The body colour is also red.......

It's actually to do with the parts stock availability in Japan.
Another owner wanted to do the same with the carpet in the future but there was very limited stock so I had to give mine up.

The red carpet from 02+ NSX-R is different from the red one on the standard models so that makes even harder to get hold of.
I'm still waiting for the rest of the carpet that are on back order for months for both NSX....
I just hope Honda won't stop manufacturing the carpet suddenly otherwise I'll end up with just one red piece in the cabin....

We are also planning to replace the ceiling, A-pillar trim, sun visor, seat belt retractor section, cabin light, etc to the later spec black ones but again, I told Japan not to order any of them unless they can 100% guarantee that they can get hold of all of them as I don't want the owner to end up with mixture of black and grey interior panels.... That will look interesting....

02+ NSX-R floor mat is no longer manufactured so I need to find aftermarket matching colour one.

Thanks to Jonathan as he already done great conversion and I can just drive up to the same company and ask them what they can do in red for the floor mat.

I did this to mine. Much, much nicer than the grey vinyl. One problem you have though is on the 'seatbelt retractor panel' - The early car as you know has the grey plastic insert that the belt slides through, you will need a black one for the black panel - unfortunately this part comes with the seatbelt assembly...you don't want to be buying a pair of seatbelts from Honda at £310 each for just that part...

However Kaz, if you are able to source the plastic inserts separately from the Japanese parts system, please let me know, I need one for my drivers side... :)
I have had limited success dying the plastic black but because the belt rubs, it will gradually show through grey again.

And the asking price is?

they are asking 37 million yen for a white 2003, so anything North of that I would think..... So 200k plus GBP before taxes etc.

There is a guy on eBay (from Japan), that has two whole sets of the red NSX-R red carpets in stock. Not sure how his prices compare to what you can get direct from Honda Japan though.
