The current bargain is the other silver one that turned up today from Plans: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/honda/nsx/honda-nsx-manual/2908158

£24995 for an early manual with just 84000m.

i seen the silver one for £24995 today, looks a really nice car, why that price for a manual?
it'd be tempting if one of my cars has to go :)

Plans know these cars really well (based on their history) and they have priced this car accordingly.
the car has been made 'track focused' so will likely only attract a certain type of buyer.

Or how about this for an origanol classic example:

Obviously another over priced example then.
i don't know, all these owners and dealers trying to hike up the price......just who can you trust these days? lol

I thought the cheaper one looked quite nice myself. Dealers do push prices up, almost as if they are trying to make a living from it.

Yeah, but you try trading one in at a dealer and omg they will offer you half the price they then put them up for, but then they're only trying to make a living, bless em. lol lol lol

Is it correct that there were only 325 RHD UK NA1's sold as the ad suggests? If so what how many NSX were sold here during its entire life cycle?

NZNick

That's been for sale for A Very Long Time.

It's an auto priced near where a manual would be with similar age / miles (IMHO).

NZNick
07-10-2014, 12:48 AM
The How Many Left website suggests that there were probably at most around 425 NSX brought into the UK over the years, of which a number were non-Honda UK sourced, and a number have either died or been exported. So total UK sales in the region of 350-375, over half of which were from the early '90s. As for the split between the various models, auto, manual, targa, coupe, NA1 3.0l, NA2 3.2l, pop-up, 02+ etc. you can search on this site and find some numbers.
This post on Pistonheads has some idea of numbers (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=1010536&mid=238205&i=260&nmt=Why+was+Honda+NSX+not+a+great+seller%3F&mid=238205) but nothing is definitive except to say that it's not a common car.

What a fantastic example of a beautiful heavily modified NA1 NSX, I think it looks totally outrageous and would be a complete show stopper at any car show I'm sure.
It amazes me that this car seems to have been done to such a high spec and thoughtful purpose yet presumably slipping under the NSXCB radar, otherwise you would have thought he would have tried advertising it on this forum first or maybe he knows something we don't about the majority of the stuck in the mud contributors of this site.
Anyway congrats mate on producing this fantastic dream machine which I'm sure performs as well as it looks, and OMG does it look good.
Well done him.

Hats off to the owner ... Yeah it's mad and lary but you know he has spent time and money doing this. Really like the wheels. I like the exterior work done. Interior is a mixed bag for me personally.
Keenly priced for the way the car sits and for sure she does stand out.

be interested to see if a forum member would bite the bullet on this ... :)

the rear looks good with that kit and the rear spoiler is like the one a lot of you are fitting?
not fussed on the windscreen shade or the red carpet. i think the seats would be enough and black everything else.
but its everyones taste and you have to respect that. but very nice car, nice wheels, good colour, different and modernising slightly the nsx na1.

so its really a 3.0 morphing into a type r? has the 3.2 engine. what were the early 1990's nsx's like compared to mid 90's and later models?
more improvements, assisted steering etc?

looks even better in the vid doesn't it. nice note off the exhaust too. i can see why he says its a show stopper and i think white is the best colour for a body kit like this on an nsx. me want, me want. boing boing boing boing lol.

I met Mark the seller a couple of years ago, nice guy. He bought a few parts from me for the car. Not mentioned in his ad but I think he fitted the later ABS system as I supplied him the parts. I never saw the car in the metal though.. He could have picked a better model to adorn the front of the car lol...

Mistercorn

It certainly does look like a very nice example of a modified car. I have huge respect for people who follow what they want to do with the car rather than how the manufacturer wanted it look, but I know from my experience on many car forums that most people don't want this and as such it makes the cars very difficult to sell on. I'm on a Porsche forum and even having the wrong badge on a car is enough to put some people off! On the bright side, if anybody does want this sort of car they will get it at a great price buying it this way. It would be great to see it on the forum with more details.

As someone who has done this upgrade, I certainly would have it as part of my write up; an essential upgrade imho if you plan to keep the car for any length of time and actually spend time behind the wheel and driving it.

He should spend a bit more time and add such details to his ad. The more he writes now in terms of information the more people may consider it

I drove past Nutley Sports Cars this afternoon, the people who are selling the silver car in my initial post.

I was dutifully observing the 30mph speed limit, so had time to look into the showroon - there were 3 or 4 people gathered around the NSX, bonnet and engine hatch open, so I guess someone interested in the car. As I passed there was much furious pointing in my direction...hopefully I helped the sales process...see, I told you there were cars you could drive in any time any place - doesn't it look great in the p!ssing rain?!'!'....or maybe I put the kibosh on things....'I though you told me these things were rare as hens teeth!

Yes - interesting for provenance, but 100 percent advertorial. And lousy at that, what with the designer squishing the shape of the photo and making it look like an amateur LibDem* newsletter.

Just finished reading the complete saga and fiasco in the thread dated 2012. That would make an interesting short film in how a dealer should NOT sell a "hi-end" car.
No doubt the new owner will some time stumble over the history on this forum.
I also wonder if Nutley Sports Cars realise what a can of worms this car had in its history, if they didn't then feel sorry for them.

'The parts fall into 7 categories: Front bumper, side moulding, air conditioning, front bulkhead, radiator, lights & speakers.

Lots of separate components which make up the entire front bumper/spoiler section which come to about £2000. The LH side sill moulding approx. £500. A/C parts including L & R condensers, cooling fan motor and shroud which add up to approx. £1000. L & R stays and a NSF frame in the front bulkhead section which total approx. £700. A radiator at £500, 2 front fog lights for £450 and L & R Bose speaker enclosure assemblies totalling some £700.'

Must have had quite a bit of trauma to need all that front part...

True. But if the chassis is undamaged and all affected parts have been replaced by OE parts were is the problem? More of an issue for me would be the vague issues at the rear of the car with possibly pulled and filled panels/bumper.
You can get to £2k in parts in a heartbeat. Just the battery tray and spare wheels support are about £1.5k between them.

The problem is its been crashed. Even replacement with oe parts is not ideal, especially as its not declared on the advert..although the dealer may not know. I put a deposit down on this last year...upon inspection I found alot of issues and obvious crash damage
