While the caliper was off to replace the seals and pistons ( see piston thread here… http://www.nsxcb.co.uk/showthread.php?12411-stainless-brake-pistons ...) I thought it’ll be rude not to give them a new splash of paint!

Obviously there are lots of opinions on what paint to use, the correct caliper colour code, degree of shininess, letter colour, and so on, but I did it this way….

First … paint strip/blast/scrape to get the old paint off… once upon a time they went red, which proved a pain to get off… paint stripper softened it, meaning the blast media just bounced off it, so much scraping and wire brushing followed, eventually to this, with just the last little dots about to be removed….

The 2 bleed nipples were there to protect the threads when it was blasted, (they did have tape on too in the blaster!)

after blasting they were hosed off, thoroughly dried, then given a good dose of brake cleaner just make sure and alse to de-grease before painting....

These were then treated to a coat of etch primer…

Here’s the 2 calipers in the 2 stages, on a heater just to help the paint to cure!

Then carefully highlighted the highlights with brushed on silver…. And a coat or two of 2 pack lacquer to give it some shine!

Another job jobbed… though I might have to re-lacquer the rear calipers now! That is the only problem when you make one bit look pretty, other bits suddenly look not so! So the vicious cycle continues!
