Can you edit and add the 'leave alone' option? Would make the poll a bit more useful / interesting (you can guess which one I want to click on  )

3.8 every day of the week! But perhaps a more advanced traction control unit might be needed?

Does the 3.8 rev as much as the standard engine though?

Can I vote for 3.8 with Supercharger or 3.8 with Turbo.

I would vote for the 3.8 with Supercharger

I don't know about the state of your engine and mileage, but if you go F/I without the block being looked at then you could well face a rebuild very quickly. The block is pretty strong but thinking what the engine was designed for and the age I would not risk it.

Go for the 3.8, then when the block is 100%, if the 3.8 is not enough then go F/I ??

Sound good, this was what I was going to do with the S2000 until I blew then engine :( New engine in now so away we go.

Engine condition seems good and has 87,000 miles. I personally would go for the rebuild but I'd like to get a bit more information from 'experts' on what is considered high mileage on an early (1992) NSX. The only reason I started looking at the Science of Speed 3.8 rebuild was just incase when I get the car serviced they start to pick up items I need doing to the engine. Rather than speed good money on OEM parts I may as well look to upgrade (however I know there is no comparison in cost). I'm not particularly after a stupidly powerful car but if it does need some attention I can't see the point in keeping it standard. Would you agree with me?

Hi minch,

I know this isn't the answer you were loking for but I think this constitutes high mileage!! (From Prime).

Cheers,

James.

That is the majority of the problems with the car. he decided at about 285,000 miles that he was going to do the least amount of repairs possible and drive the car till it stopped. I guess things change because about 2 weeks after his july visit his car was towed in with a dead battery and blown main fuse, he had sold his practices and house and was moving to another state when the shipper came to pick up his cars the nsx was dead and the guy jumped the car backwards and blew the fuse, so he leaves the car behind. The doctor now needs to get rid of the car quickly as he doesnot have time to arrange another shipper. So he asked me if I was Still interested in his car, I explained to him that I really couldnot afford it as I have 3 kids 1 in college and 2 soon to follow but I was curious so I asked him what he wanted for it and he said make an offer, I did and he accepted and here we are now the car is about 90% back together and i drive it everyday my current odometer is 340425 miles. That's my story."

Would of been a better story with paragraphs!

I prefer N/A tuning, F/I is like cheating.
