Many thanks to John for allowing us to post on here. Sorry it has taken so long to get this information across.

We are happy to announce that the Supercar Siege is back for 2014.

Once again this is being kindly hosted by Leeds Castle,(Kent), and in support of Royal Navy & Royal Marine Children's Fund.

For those of you who missed last years event, we manage to raise a total of £10,000 for the charity, through the 300 cars on display and the amazing amount raised through the Dream Rides - Sporting Bears.

It was an amazing success for us being our first large event, we managed to get close to 4000 visitors through the gates and we hope to double that this year.
We also learned a lot and took on board the feedback given and hope that this years event will be a massive improvement.

The day is open to all and will have a relaxed family focused feel to it, highlights include:

600 cars ranging from iconic hatch backs to hyper cars and everything in between.
Small traders village selling specifically targeted wears for the car enthusiast.
Dream Rides courtesy of the Sporting Bears.
Huge array of children's activities including a brand new play park.
Static Army Air Corps Helicopter, *Apache currently booked in but subject to change.
Access to tour the stunning Castle and grounds which can take all day to get around if you do it properly.

Prices are as follows:

Static car display/club display pass is £10 + £1 booking fee
This covers all passengers in the vehicle (max 4 pax).
The normal entry prices are £21 per adult and £18.50 per child so a huge saving for those attending.

Having discussed the club stand with John, I am happy to say we have provisionally set aside 10 club stand spaces for you. This can be revised closer to the date.

For those that don't want to show their cars and want to park in the public car parks there will be a 2 for 1 scheme being run closer to the event.

We are seeking your help to raise much needed money for the charity, the next time you see reported losses in Afghanistan, more often than not there will be children bereaved.

The charity supports the children and the family through the bereavement.

Points to note:

All cars must be on the stand by 8:00hrs and remain in place until 16:30hrs. This has been agreed with the venue.
No revving of engines. There is a vast array of wildlife in the castle grounds including Peacocks which distress easily.
Payment will be via our online site which is going live mid March and the cut off point will be the 1st of May.

Any questions feel free to ask,
Baz and Ross

Please add your name to the list below including your car make and model:

You can put me down as a possible if your trying to get numbers.
It's my Fathers 70th birthday that day, not sure what the family plans are yet and had been hanging on to find out before adding to the list but they are only up the road from this.
Are the vehicle movement time restrictions guidelines or would entry be refused if arriving a little later than requested?

@lotusollie... i wouldn't have thought arriving a little later would cause too many headaches as the sporting bears are in and out all day, and Leeds Castle have their own 'land train' trundling between the house and main entrance. i can check with Ross for confirmation (though Ross should see this post/thread pop up in his inbox!)

we've taken a gazebo to Leeds castle before as the show area is quite open, but we might have to set it up at the show-field edge, as not to spoil the vista! i'm sure you can make your own tea/coffee as i've seen plenty of classic car buffs making their own there! having said that, there will be food/drink vendors brought in, as well as the castles own permanent outlets!

Hi Britlude, just to confirm that Ross did contact me couple of weeks ago confirming my booking as I cocked up placing my reg in the comments box when I donated my entry fee a while ago.
Do I need a pass to get in or just registration number?
If so it's CHL935
kind regards

I was planning to come down with family tomorrow in the old barge Lexus but if there is a space I might be up for bringing the NSX. What would I need to do at this late stage?

Sarah had the Cube there, engine all dressed and looking great

at the end of the show we undressed the engine and took it over to the moat for some tarty pics, when we parked, someone called his mate over, and asked if he could see the rubix cube again (why is it always the rubix!) sarah didn't want to open the bonnet, but my dad encouraged her... the look on the blokes face was priceless when presented with a totally stock engine!!!lol

anyway, a couple of indulgent pics....

Guys

Great to meet up with some other members for the first time. While we were discussing cleaning the cars there was mention of another member who is based near Crawley, who would be a good contact for detailing. Can someone please share his ID so I can PM for the details.

the early exits were an issue for the castle more than anyone else, Ross has released his plans for the future...

Our biggest issue at the Siege is we are contractually obliged to keep all cars in situ until 16:30hrs. This is due to the fact that Leeds Castle sell tickets at the gate up until this point. Now despite covering this off numerous times we still have people leaving prior to noon!.My plan: Star system - If your club remains in place until 16:30hrs the club receives a gold star. This equates to an automatic invite to the next years show as well as upping the ranking on the plot position.
A black star for clubs that loose members, rev engines and or have numerous issues with our team (believe it or not we have two clubs to strike off the list from yesterday due to this).
1 black star equals a demotion in location and size, 2 in a row means no longer invited back.
I can't risk loosing the venue due to this, hopefully club reps will get the message across to their members as well as hammering home the message.
We understand there will be the odd exception due to the emergencies but funnily enough we had 15 family emergencies

the exit was a smidge early!!! so we might have a black star and be on the naughty step! :( however, it's good that Ross and crew intends this to continue, and looking at the public car park when we left, hopefully the castle will too :) general feedback i've seen is all positive!

as i understand it, the castle get the gate, they did supply the venue after all! (tho there were 2for1 entry vouchers available for walk-ins, and the drivers/passengers in the show cars weren't charged) it will be interesting to see how the show affected the usual sunny sunday attendance!

as far as i know.... the drivers donations, cut of the traders take and sporting bears car rides make the total. however it's worked out, it's a decent sum!

the Sporting Bears had a selection of cars for £25 a ride, and 5 (i think) at £50, 3 ferraris, 1 atom and a bright orange GTR, they were out giving rides/sold out all day!!!

i reserve the right to be wrong on any of the above info :)

Great event in a very relaxed atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.
Certainly released the disappointment of not being able to make the European trip although today i'm wishing I searched a bit harder for the sun cream before I left :(
When I made my late donation it tipped the total over £5k so it would seem about half the funds were raised from people displaying and the other half on the day.
The whole day seemed to be very well organised and a definite credit to those involved.
I followed the P1 into the site, lowered my window to have a listen and was greeted by a faint whirrr as it crept along in all electric mode :(

Hello,

First off I would like to apologise for this post taking so long to come about, It has been a learning curve regarding traders and sponsors but finally we can announce the total raised by this years Supercar Siege.

As you may or may not be aware our only sources of revenue from the event were from the car display passes, the Sporting Bears Dream Rides and a percentage of the takings from the catering vendors.

We have now managed to tally these all together and proud to announce that the event raised a total of: £13,681.14.
This final amount has now been recieved by the Royal Navy and Royal Marine Childrens Fund.

This is no small amount of money and will benifit the charity immensely.

We would like to extend our gratitude to all of the cars owners and their families who got up early, travelled to the far flung reaches of Kent and put up with the 28 degrees of British sunshine, all in the name of charity.

It was a long day but hopefully the show was enjoyed by them just as much as the visitors. The standard of car on display showed just how much the owners cared for their cars and we were in awe of some of the club stand displays.

Next we would like to say thank you to the drivers and volounteers that helped out with the Sporting Bears Dream Rides, to not only give up your weekends for numerous events throughout the year but to also allow members of the public to ride in your pride and joy whilst covering the cost of fuel etc is nothing short of remarkable.

The majority of the above total came from the donations for the car rides and without their particitpation the Siege would not have been the success it was.

If you want to join their ranks feel free to head over to: http://www.sportingbears.co.uk/

The food vendors and trade stands were a huge success this year, we managed to keep queues over the peek periods down to a reasonable level and I believe the traders also had some very happy customers. We are happy that we chose the comapnies that we did as they were amazing on the day.

The Royal Navy contingent were fantastic and I'm sure if you attended the show you no doubt will have wondered over to the helicopter display area at some point.
Not only were the team happy engaging the crowds but also helped focus peoples minds on what the whole day was about, raising money for a brilliant military charity.

And last but not least, the Missbanzai marshalls and Leeds Castle staff went above and beyong the call of duty over the weekend, both teams worked their socks off to make sure that the event was a success. Without their dedication and hard work this event could have gone awry but they made sure it was a success no matter what the cost.
